well so much for Coastal's ace pitcher-down to CofC 7-2 in the second inning.

Jackets beat Alabama, 5-2. Still have the regular Sunday starter to go tomorrow vs. the Alabama-Mercer winner. If that fails, then Charlie All-staff is set for Monday.

Well the LSU fan base dominated in the stands this weekend in LA, but doesn't look like LSU has the horses to carry this regional on the field. UCLA up 5-0 late, LSU batters look completely lost up against a great pitching performance.

12-1 bottom of the 9th....looks like ASU is moving on sending Hawaii to face a hungry and upset San Diego. The Toreros won today 22-1 in the losers bracket after falling to Hawaii in game #1 4-3 yesterday.

Minnesota tied up New Mexico 3-3 in the top of the 7th and their pitcher has been really strong the last 4 innings. Hopefully they can pull it out to win their first 2.

Just home from all day at Baum Stadium. Arkansas beat Washington State 6-4. Great game. Arkansas way out-hit WSU, but WSU got a couple of homers to keep it very close. Got very uncomfortable in the bottom of the 8th when the lead was down to 5-4 with the bases loaded and nobody out. Jordan Pratt came in and closed it out preserving the one run lead and then worked through the bottom of the 9th for the win.

Looking ahead to tomorrow, K-State and WSU play again for the opportunity to try to beat Arkansas twice. Arkansas still has Mike Bolsinger ready for tomorrow night (he was our Friday starter earlier in the season and has had a couple of great outings recently). Very comfortable with our pitching situation. Should be able to close it out.

UCLA played well vs LSU. Bauer was nearly unhittable until the 9th inning but UCLA holds on to win.

Minnesota wins after they got 2 in the 10th and pitcher Scott Matyas stuck out the last 8 batters he faced. They're the only 4 seed to be 2-0 right now, really hoping they can take at least 1 of 2 from the winner of Cal State Fullerton and New Mexico.

Very disappointed in Coastal Carolina after they lost 16-6 to Charleston. Starting ace pitcher only last 2 2/3 innings, giving up 10 runs. Thankfully the relief pitchers weren't used in the first game, so hopefully will still have some arms left for the hopefully next two games. Should be able to get by Stony Brook again I hope to get their revenge against the Cougars-but its going to be a tough job to beat them twice now.

Coastal cruising in the elimination game against Stony Brook, leading 12-2 in the 6th. Giving the bullpen a needed break after yesterday's late night rain delayed game.

Do you think Hawaii has a shot against ASU if they win this game, given how they lost 12-1 the other day?

Alabama moves on. It was a close game (5-3, tying runners on in the 9th), but not nearly enough hitting by Mercer to tire out the Bama staff.

I doubt it, but stranger things have happened I guess. I'm just happy the team got hot at the right time of the year, but winning twice against ASU is a tall mountain to climb.

It can get ugly when teams get deep into their pitching staff. Final score today in an elimination game: St. John's beat Ole Miss 20-16

TAMU tied it, but Miami hit two HR's to take a 5-3 lead in the 5th.

TAMU is going to have a rough time. Miami's best relievers are all rested. TAMU had to use their best closer to stay alive earlier in the day.

Miami meltdown in the 6th and TAMU took an 11-5 lead. Miami gets one back in the bottom. Looks like TAMU might be bringing in their closer who pitched 2.2 innings earlier today.

Coastal takes the lead 3-2 heading into the sixth, could have been more, got the bases loaded with 2 outs but then couldn't drive in any more runs.
