Canes were on a 1 for 32 slump and dangerously close to being eliminated, but hit a 3 run homer in the bottom of the 7th to go up 3-2.

Tense situation here in Gainesville. Top of 9th inning. Caned lead 3-2. Gators on 1st and 2nd with 1 out.

Edit: And now bases loaded after a Canes error.

And the Canes lose due to a pathetic fielding performance.

Yeah it hurt. However, we honestly should've won that game by 3 or 4 runs. We have the ability to beat this team 2 straight. Now let's see if we do it.

Coastal and South Carolina are having a battle again. Coastal was ahead 5-2 at one point, then South Carolina pulled even, now Coastal ahead 7-5 in the 6th with South Carolina threatening with one man at second and 1 out.

7-7 now after some poor decisions and loss of focus by the usually solid Chanticleer infielders. 5 errors on the day so far.

And after leaving his usual closer in for far too long, South Carolina gets two men on base against him with two outs, then a 3 run HR to take the lead.

And its over for Coastal. Both games were very winnable by Coastal but left way too many men in scoring position, and then today the coach left the closer in when he should have taken him out, and it cost them a trip to Omaha.

Sorry, Thom. Great season for Coastal. We both may end up with our teams falling on the doorstep of Omaha.

Florida State in, now, along with Florida and South Carolina.

Meanwhile, TCU inching closer. Up 3-0 in the bottom of the 7th over Texas.

Yep, TCU beat Texas with some great pitching. Texas couldn't get a hit at all today with guys in scoring position. This will be TCU's first trip ever to Omaha.

Not looking good for Arkansas. Ran ourselves right out of yet another inning, meanwhile, starting pitcher has his worst outing of the year and we can't catch a break.

Down 5-3 top 8th.

They just broke into UCLA-CSUF to show the play at the plate there. Surprised the runner was called out at home, but the announcer on the play (the replay announcer, not the guys calling the game in Tempe) said replays showed it was a good call.

Never showed a replay good enough to tell for sure, but I think he was probably out. I had safe live, though. Was pretty surprised he got called out.

UCLA moves on to Omaha.

I am happy for the team here, as they have played really well this season and deserve to go.

That said, I have many more CSUF friends than UCLA friends, and it's a point of OC pride that CSUF regularly goes to Omaha.

UCLA also eliminated UCI last week, so they're probably not well liked by OC college baseball fans at the moment.

They have switched to ARK-ASU now. Looks like the Razorbacks are making a run. 5-4 in the top of the 8th, 2 out, runner on 1B.

Oh! That's right, it's not based on the field of play, but a rotating schedule. So Arkansas is the home team then? Cool, well, we'll see what happens then.

Game 1 and 2 rotate and game 3 is a coin flip.

Even if it ends in the 12th, this has been 2 phenomenal games and this is the way I want this team to go down. Giving it all against the #1 team in the country in 2 12 inning games. Beautiful games to watch.

That said, Eibner and Wilkins are coming up in the bottom of the 12th, so I'm not saying goodnight yet.

Yup, nothing for the Arkansas team or its fans to be ashamed of. They had a great season and played the #1 squad extremely tough right to the bitter end.

After hitting six HR all year, Cody Reine hits four more in two days as OU wins two in a row in Virginia to reach Omaha for the first time since '95! Great game by Bobby Shore, 8 IP and no runners past first base in the 11-0 series clincher.
