QFT

Regarding his descriptions of kids, so what if he doesn't like them. Maturity level has nothing to do with enjoying yourself at a party or not liking children.

What's with the new thread title edit fad. If you're going to do it at least give it some consecutive thread title hilarity.

Not liking kids and thinking a "party" has to have beer pong to be fun is a pretty large gaps imo.

Not wanting kids wasn't what I was keying on - it was the implication that for a "party" to be fun it had to be like a frat party that I was keying on.

But has a great deal to do with understanding the role children play in the lives of many people and with understanding that "party" doesn't automatically mean acting like a drunken frat rat. His use of the phrase "playing some beer pong " as key component speaks volumes here, at least to the majority of adults.

I think playing beer pong is as close to an adult themed party that Oakland gets. It's a little different across the bay.

To get back to the point, maybe, I think it makes good sense for you to want to get out for some time as adults. But on the other hand you have to recognize that she's not quite there yet. Encouraging her to try it, because it's important to you, is a good idea. Making her feel like she's wrong for wanting to stay with the kid, not only gets you in the doghouse, but I think is wrong. People move at different speeds, and being parents means you both have to find some compromise that works for both of you without making either one of you feel like a heel for feeling the way you do.

Ah, so this is the definition of "mature". I had always wondered.
