Where Can I Play Hold'Em Poker Online
I know there are alot of holdem poker players here on the board and I wanted to know where you guys are playing???
I for one would prefer to play some online where there is no real money at stake... I am not looking for a online casino that needs my credit card, etc... I am looking for a place like POGO.com or YahooGames where I can have some fun playing some hands of HoldEm Poker when the notion hits me... I have played a little poker on Pogo but they don't have a hold'em version... I have also tried YahooGames version but their screen is so boring and there are so many people at those tables that a game takes forever... So if you have had any luck playing any FREE TEXAS HOLD'EM ONLINE I would love a few links of places to try out... I have done a Google search but it always comes up with the Online Casinos the "let you play for free" but you still have to put money at stake in the game??? |

most of the sites that let you play for real money, also let you play for play money. Yahoo Games has a hold em room if I remember correctly. partypoker.com and pokerstars.com are two big sites for real money that also offer numerous play money tables. For those you have to download a client and create an account to play, but you do not have to enter any sort of credit card info or anything like that to play at the play money tables.

And I would suggest poker stars if you wanted to play for free. There is less traffic, making it easier to actually play. You can NEVER get a table for play money at partypoker.

Maybe I've had bad luck, but all the free games I've played in are like night and day difference with even the $0.50-$1 games to the point I don't even feel like I'm playing the same game. Nearly every round of betting goes to the max and every hand has like 5+ players at the showdown...

I like PokerPages. People seem to take the tournaments seriously and the game engine is excellent.

I use AbsolutePoker. Pretty Solid, not as many people as other sites means you can get a game.

I've played TruePoker.com and PokerStars.com
In True Poker, you play in a 3D environment, and you can actually see the other players pick up their cards to look at them. You can pick up some decent "tells" with that simple action. Community is pretty nice too, as the other players tend to me more talkative than at other sites. But there aren't as many game variations available (i.e. limits, tournaments) as in PokerStars.
