Keeping runs from scoring is just as good as driving them in. The top fielders have been chosen in the Continental League for 2188. Here are the Best Fielder Awards winners:

CL Benny Myers Rookie of the Year Award Presented

Zhu-lan King had an outstanding season in the Cleveland bullpen and has been named the Continental League Benny Myers Rookie of the Year Award winner for 2188.

He made 62 relief appearances, throwing 77.1 innings and compiling a 7-3 won-lost mark and a 3.38 ERA. King saved 3 games with 60 strikeouts and 24 walks.


Casillas Presented RL Benny Myers Rookie of the Year Award

The fine rookie left fielder from Hartford, Sergio Casillas, was hailed today as the winner of the 2188 Republic League Benny Myers Rookie of the Year Award.

Casillas finished his freshman season hitting .334 with 14 home runs, 72 RBIs and 87 runs scored.

O'Reilly Triumphs in Gabriel Prado Award Voting

The Gabriel Prado Award for 2188 has been presented and the Continental League winner is Tom O'Reilly of Cleveland.

"It's always nice to receive an award like this," said O'Reilly. "I just hope I can improve on my performance next year and be in the running again," the Cyclones star told reporters.

O'Reilly excelled with an impressive 19-6 record in 40 starts. In 234.1 innings he yielded 196 hits and 58 walks, while striking out 153 and compiling a fine 2.11 ERA.


RL Awards Outstanding Pitcher Trophy

The Hammersmith Hooligans have a rising superstar or maybe even a budding Hall-of-Famer in the making.
It's Francisco Lucero, this year's Republic League Gabriel Prado Award selection. This blossoming hurler wowed fans, peers and sportswriters with a fabulous performance.

Lucero compiled a 18-8 record in 33 starts, tallied 189 strikeouts in 225 innings and recorded a 3.16 ERA. Other clubs managed only a .253 batting average against him.

CL's Premier Hitter, Martínez of Noblesville
Thursday, November 6th, 2188
Noblesville's Jesús Martínez put the wraps on a fine campaign today by winning the 2188 Continental League Hideaki Tanaka Award.

The 24-year-old veteran scorched the opposition with a .323 average, picking up 203 hits, 42 doubles, 9 triples, 38 home runs and 117 RBIs, while scoring 118 runs.

The Republic League Hideaki Tanaka Award for 2188 has been presented to the talented and hot-hitting Raúl López of the Omaha Bees.

In his fine season, he compiled a .314 batting average with 194 hits, 35 doubles, 2 triples and 30 home runs, along with 97 RBIs and 102 runs scored.
