It's been said that the best offense is a good defense. That's why contending teams are always looking to improve on the defensive side of the game. Keeping runs from scoring is just as good as driving them in. The top fielders have been chosen in the Continental League for 2126. Here are the Slick Fielder Award winners:

Best Rookie Trophy Presented to Rivera
Monday, November 4th, 2126
The debut season of Washington's first baseman Pedro Rivera was capped off today with the announcement that he has been crowned the 2126 Continental League Kien-lung Teng Award winner.

Here are his season stats: 158 games played, a .281 average, 162 hits, 31 home runs, 38 walks and a .332 on-base percentage. Rivera also drove in 86 runs and scored 81 times.


Rookie Trophy Reeled In by Portland's Martínez
Monday, November 4th, 2126
The premier rookie performer in the Republic League was Portland second baseman Héctor Martínez. He was honored today by league officials as the 2126 Kien-lung Teng Award winner.

Martínez put up some good numbers, including a .249 batting average and .322 on-base percentage, while racking up 16 home runs, 61 RBIs and 76 runs scored.

#1 CL Hurler Named
Wednesday, November 6th, 2126
The Mauro Morales Award for 2126 has been presented and the Continental League winner is Jim Cobb of Alberta.

"It's always nice to receive an award like this," said Cobb. "I just hope I can improve on my performance next year and be in the running again," the Renegades star told reporters.

Cobb excelled with an impressive 20-3 record in 40 starts. In 235.2 innings he yielded 189 hits and 55 walks, while striking out 251 and compiling a fine 2.37 ERA.


Sawyer Voted RL Mauro Morales Award
Wednesday, November 6th, 2126
Bill Sawyer of the Rattlers humbled hitters all season long and today celebrated as he hauled in the Republic League Pitcher of the Year trophy, the coveted Mauro Morales Award.

The Maricopa hurler held opposing hitters to a .200 batting average while putting up a 18-6 record and a 1.62 earned run average. He started 32 games, pitched 250.1 innings and struck out 266.

Yamashita Selected CL's Premier Batter
Thursday, November 7th, 2126
Kiyotaka Yamashita has been around FOOL-X enough to know a good hot streak when he sees one -- and he got to see one firsthand all year. For his standout run through the 2126 season, he's taking home the Bartolo Liriano Award in the Continental League.

The Omaha right fielder put up a batting average of .306 with 35 doubles, 9 triples, 34 home runs and 114 RBIs.


Raúl Calderón Chosen RL's Top Batter
Thursday, November 7th, 2126
Regardless of where Raúl Calderón signs on next year, the 27-year-old will be considered a marquee pickup after his award-winning 2126 season with Maricopa. Calderón received word today that he has won the Republic League Bartolo Liriano Award.

The right fielder pounded out 190 hits, 35 doubles, 11 triples, and 33 home runs while hitting .297 and driving in 78 runs this season.

I hope you get up super early and see this. Any reason why you don't have the links to the forum and league file in your sig like you used to?

The FOOLX file blew up on me a couple nights ago and OOTP crashes now whenever I try to load the league. So I was going to go download the file manually and overwrite my version, but I never saved the hyperlink to the forum or the file.

I already blew off FA1 because of this, so hoping you see this early enough and can get me the link to the file in time for me to export. I leave for work super early (for me out here on the West Coast--around 5:15 a.m.), so I won't be able to just do something where we download the file and run the sim late.

No issues with the FOOL file, so we're good there.

Chief - I've had the same issues recently with all of my online leagues. Just all of a sudden (no patching) it started having occasional issues with crashing during file download and then not being able to load again

Fortunately I always kept the DL link Hyde sent me once.
