St-Pierre Grabs CL 2127 Rookie Honors

Plantana fans have reason to cheer today as right fielder Michel St-Pierre brought home the Continental League Kien-lung Teng Award for 2127.

He put together a .267 batting average on the strength of 139 hits and swatted 23 home runs. He also racked up 85 RBIs and scored 77 runs, signaling that this might be the beginning of a solid baseball career.


Top Rookie Trophy Presented to Gallegos

A fine inaugural season has paid off handsomely for Fernando Gallegos of the Chicago Hitmen. The 24-year-old topped off his debut year with the 2127 Republic League Kien-lung Teng Award.

The Hitmen second baseman took the trophy by hitting .298 in 162 games and finished with 203 hits, 4 home runs, 72 RBIs and 87 runs scored.

Renegades Star Wins Mauro Morales Award

The Mauro Morales Award for 2127 has been presented and the Continental League winner is Jim Cobb of Alberta.

"It's always nice to receive an award like this," said Cobb. "I just hope I can improve on my performance next year and be in the running again," the Renegades star told reporters.

Cobb excelled with an impressive 17-7 record in 33 starts. In 228 innings he yielded 183 hits and 46 walks, while striking out 236 and compiling a fine 2.05 ERA.


Top RL Pitcher for 2127 Named

Jacob Cooper of the Ann Arbor Wolverines impressed voters as one of the elite pitchers in the Republic League this year. He capped off a sensational 19-3 season by taking home the coveted Mauro Morales Award today.

Making 32 starts, he tossed 213.2 innings, struck out 175, walked 38 and registered a 2.82 ERA

Kiyotaka Yamashita Named CL's Best Hitter

Kiyotaka Yamashita has been around FOOL-X enough to know a good hot streak when he sees one -- and he got to see one firsthand all year. For his standout run through the 2127 season, he's taking home the Bartolo Liriano Award in the Continental League.

The Omaha right fielder put up a batting average of .352 with 28 doubles, 4 triples, 41 home runs and 133 RBIs.

The top batter in the Republic League in 2127 was Ann Arbor center fielder Jeffrey Lang. Today he was named the winner of the Bartolo Liriano Award.

Lang starred this season with a .294 batting average, 198 hits, 49 home runs, 156 RBIs, .332 OBP and 115 runs scored.
