I have to say, the honesty and integrity of you as a commish in running this league is great. There might be some league runners out there I'm sure who would adjust their offer and re-sim to get the desired outcome but not you, harsh to loose out.

Ben reduced his offer from the Stage 1 Max Bonus/Max Salary offer thinking he had overbid. However, he underestimated how much a non-cheetin' QuikSand would bid.

It's worse than that. I actually took the time to look specifically at Quik's cap situation before I made my offer for this final critical stage. (Every player with an offer signs in FA2:3.) I had him maxing out at $26M, so I got greedy and tried to re-sign a couple of my stars from last year (that was successful). Since I had him at $26M max, I went $27M.

He went $29M.

Yup. That's why I set the stages the way I did. 1-2-3 are for the real signings. Anyone left over at Stage 4 is someone who didn't get an offer from any team. The same thing happens at Stage 10 during FA1, fwiw. It's pretty obviously hard-coded that way. I've never, ever, ever seen a player with an offer not sign at FA1:10 or FA2:3. The FA1 time isn't as important, since good players rarely/never last that long anyway. But in FA2, it's sometimes worth the risk of waiting until stage 3 to make your "real" offer. (But sometimes guys sign before then, so caveat emptor on that strat.)

Almost enough to redeem my feelings about FOF these days.

Had a good WR haul in Cinci. I think we're finally about where I want us to be. Need some more LB help, but overall, the firepower we have now should be enough to get us there within a year or two.
