So... for a serious answer...

Disc Golf... it's low impact, but also gets you moving a bit. The learning curve to at least be decent isn't that steep, but there is a lot steeper curve to actually being good. The expense is low and it's an activity that you can do by yourself or with friends.

I picked it up a couple of years ago and have had a lot of people try it out with me. To a person they've all enjoyed it, and several have picked it up as a new hobby.

Take up running and run some 5K or maybe a mini.

Play WoW. There's plenty to keep you busy there.

I like wade's suggestion of disc golf, though I've noticed that it seems to be fairly regional. Some places you go, they know what it is and there are courses close by. Some places, they look at you ask if you've asked for green cheese from the moon.

I always recommend photography, because it's fairly simple to get started (especially with digital cameras) and can take you all kinds of places.

Though I've never done it, geocaching looks kind of fun, too, and would definitely get you out and about...

I'll recommend photography and disc golf as well. Can be as immersive and time consuming as you want them to be.

Hiking is always good, too, and is a natural fit with photography.

I got into mountain biking when I was looking for something new. Really enjoyed it, I had the largest state forest in Mass a couple miles from me, so it worked perfect.

Haven't in a couple years and I'm not near that forest anymore, really would like to get back to it.

Geocaching. My family and I just started, and its great for exploring new areas around where you live. If you have an Iphone or Droid, you can get apps for them that help you out, or spend a little on a small GPS unit.

That's a good one. It'll be hard to get that many video cameras, but they are cheaper these days.

Geocrashing. It's demolition derby but everyone has to drive a Geo. A Tracker, a Metro, a Prizm...whatever.

Or, cow tripping. You walk up to sleeping cows and place objects in front of their hooves that make them stumble when they wake up.

I used to do a lot of disc golf- in college I lived 1/4 mile from the park with a solid 9 hole course, we'd get out of class at 2 and go play a couple rounds....those were the days.

I initially read that as photoshopping disc golf.

I have actually gotten back into photography after being thrown into teaching it this summer (I hadn't done much with it since I majored in journalism/photography in college). Since then, I've taken some pictures of former student who is an aspiring model and in exchange I get free babysitting. Since then, I've been asked to do shots for others and show some local professionals a few things. Might end up turning the hobby into some good extra cash.

It takes a little $$ to start up, but it's a lot of fun and could lead to something bigger.
