Hope springs eternal. I have been an IU football fan since my freshman year in 1989. The last time we beat Ohio State? 1988.

Sometime before I die, we will win again. I am hoping OSU is coming in overconfident and looking ahead to Oklahoma. Throw in some first-game rust on offense for OSU, an improving defense for IU, and a win seems... possible.

Some days I think Texas will go 10-2, other days 5-7, before deciding on 8-4.

Exaclty how I feel about Iowa.

We have a great OL and a bunch of studs at RB. but a new QB and a terrible WR corp.
Great LBs. a really good DL and a suspect secondary.

4-8? 12-0? 6-6?

Who knows. This is the first season I really have no clue/

IU to cover the spread...that is a good bet. You should take it.
IU to win though isn't happening this year. Maybe in your lifetime though.

I'm just excited for college football season. Look forward to the discussions on here more than anything and wonder who will be the sleeper team everyone jumps on the bandwagon of.

Well I mean we can rule out 12-0 if that'll help.

Paul Johnson listed not one starter at QB, not two co-starters, but FOUR "OR" starters on the weekly depth chart release required by the ACC. There's the old saying that if you have two QBs, you have no QBs, but I'm not sure what it means if you have four.

Did he list Michigan's QBs on his depth chart? That would have been funny.

To be fair, PJ should have just listed 3 rbs and ignored qb

Cant believe you didnt put Wyoming at Iowa up there.

Wyoming has the potential #1 pick at QB going up against a power 5 program.

Whats the buzz on UCLA this year? Is Rosen going to step up? Is the o-line going to be any better than last season? We lost our 2 biggest pass rushers (1.1 was one of them) so I dont know if it will matter. Have no idea what to think about this game. A&M listed 3 "co-starters" at QB too

Not entirely sure who those are gonna be either most likely.

Though at this point I fear any of them might be just as good an option at QB.

For the record, only one of the QBs listed has lined up at RB during his GT career.

UCLA always had more talent than their record last year, which was affected by terrible offensive playcalling (that OC has since been fired) and the loss of Josh Rosen in Game 6.

That said, your guess is as good as mine. The OL "looks" to be better, but probably not too much. Pretty much the rest of the offense returns, including Rosen, along with yet another new OC/system (although I like Jedd Fisch so far). The offense will probably be better.

Defense can't sure yet. There is a lot of talent on the D side of the ball, but UCLA lost 6 starters, including 5 NFL draft picks and 1st rounder Takk McKinley. Run defense seems likely to be an issue, at least early on.

I expect a close game, so home field advantage may be the difference here. But going into this season, UCLA has as many questions as they have had since Mora took over.

Wiscy is OVER-RATED.

I wish we had Indiana on our schedule. The more gimmes the better.

Wyoming is a mess with the suspensions.

Let the smack talk begin.

Games start for real tomorrow night fella. Tighten your seat belt.

Guys, this is the college football thread. Can you all who keep posting about Indiana, Iowa, Wisconsin and the rest of the Big Ten schools start a different thread maybe?

How many teams does the B1G have ranked in the top 11?
The SEC?
The ACC?

I guess if the B1G is Pop Warner, the rest of the nation is Ultimate Frisbee

Indiana are 21-point dogs to OSU. I don't think OSU will cover.

I will dog on B1G teams, but am in the B1Gs corner.
It is being called the best conference in the land this year. I saw some talking heads say they didnt think there would be a double digit win team out of the SEC besides Alabama.
And the same goes for the ACC outsde of FSU and Clemson.
The B1G on the other hand could have 4 or 5 double digit win teams.

Not hyperbole, but reality.

Whoa, I never said Wiscy would regress. I know better. Iowa and Wiscy are one in the same, but Wiscy has been doing it better lately.

I said Overrated. As in picked to win the division, when Iowa will.

Minnesota sucks.

And Nebraska is living in the 90s.

Compared to the others? The best.

When the other conferences only sport one or 2 teams with double digit wins, the B1G is the top league.

Parity does not mean best.
