Ok, post-ST file is up. I'm traveling through next Wednesday night. I have a laptop with me this time with OOTP so we shouldn't experience any delays.

No. That proposed trade isn't going to happen, as negotiation broke down last night . But even if it had you weren't getting the 1.2 anyway.

Just to clarify, I determine where teams are capwise based on the league financial report only. If your FFP is stashed in the minors and not included in that report, then I add his first year signing bonus to that. But that's it.

League Financial Report for Second League of Offseason Play

The HTML won't be totally updated because if I do, the images will all get screwed up. And I'll be using hotel/coffee shop wifi for the next few days...but I'll update it as/when I can. The in-game will obviously always be right.

The prediction engine for this year is predicting bedlam in the NL. Everyone but Denver is a contender, apparently. In the AL, it's assuming as many as five teams in the race this year. I guess we'll see how that goes for us...

Sooo..Columbus had 33 players on the roster forcing me to fix that for them usually by demoting the worst guys and letting the AI fix the wreckage. Sorry. It was too much for me to clean up though.

Carolina is $6.475m over the cap at the start of the regular season. Columbus was $490k over the cap. Columbus will get a warning. Carolina will be assessed a 2nd round pick and should hopefully fix the problem at mid-season or I'll do it for them.

The 2nd round pick taken from Carolina will be awarded to the team with the worst record in the league at the end of this sim. I started to auction it off, but that's too much work.

Oh also, no way Denver gets that pick if it ends up with the worst record. It'll be the worst non-Denver team. #noconflictsofinteresthere

I don't even understand how this is possible. Doc's club in Gettysburg seems to be for real. Kauai is sputtering despite a huge payroll and yet, sits just a 1/2 game out of a playoff spot. In fact, every NL team is within 2 games of the post-season (Yes, even Shem Creek) except Denver. In the AL, San Diego, Memphis and Columbus are all hanging within 3 games of the 3rd spot.

Second half should be bonkers.

Ok, so the file is up. Using phone wifi to upload so no HTML or anything until I get home on Wednesday night. We'll sim the draft and all-star game on Wednesday night. Chicago gets Carolina's 2nd rounder for the salary cap penalty overage penalty.

Umm...I think that's it. Trade lines are open. Let's see what happens.

Due to super speedy development and only 4 years of minor league service available before we have to call up guys or sign them, Gettysburg nearly emptied out their stellar minor league system into the big club. The boys are young, but they're showing they can play.
Bring on the 2nd half, bitches!

Oh yeah, and F Subby.

Sorry about this, I meant to address this and then forgot about it. My computer has been on the fritz lately so I wasn't with OOTP access the last couple days.

Do I tell you who to cut from my roster or do I just cut the person myself in the game?

You just do it yourself in-game and export like normal. No problem.

I didn't realize you had an OOTP problem. I won't assess the penalty then. That's not your fault.

It's actual a computer problem, not OOTP. My damn laptop won't hold a charge anymore, I have to set it up in just the right way for the power adapter to actuually do anything and it comes "uncharged" very easily, so as a result I have a laptop without power most of the time. Once it dies completely it's even harder to get back on...

Assess the penalty if you wish though I still knew I was over and could have posted on the forums about it, I just didn't. Although, second round pick does seem kind of high

NL is so tight that a team with a losing record might make the playoffs when it's all said and done.

Washington, Shem Creek and Rio Grande all 2 games out of the NL 3rd spot with 2 games to go. Carolina just needs one win to seal the deal. In the AL, Winnemucca, Lake Tahoe and San Diego claim the playoff spots. Kauai ends their playoff run at 1 in the NL and so, we'll for sure have a new champ.

Gonna do the draft lottery now. The worst team used to have a 38% chance at getting the top pick and the 2nd worst team used to have a 18% chance and 3rd place a 10% chance and 4th an 8% chance. Now, it's going to be the worst team having a 46.5% chance at the top pick, 20.5% for 2nd worst, 12% for the 3rd worst and 9% for the 4th worst. The 10th, 9th, 9th and 7th worst teams will have a 1/1000, 2/1000, 3/1000, 4/1000th chance of getting it. Seems fairer that way.

Don't forget to reboot fatigue before running playoffs.

Do we contract by two teams or do we just allow 2nd team ownership? (can't be in your same league, no trading between your two clubs?)

Anyone have thoughts on this? I don't want to necessarily fiat this one through if anyone has strong feelings about it. I like the 16-team setup better, there are no good 14-team schedules and I'd prefer not to go back to 12 teams.

And recruiting goes in ebbs and flows, so I suspect we'll be able to fill those spots out over time. But this would at least ensure the players on those teams can be managed relatively sparsely over time, etc.

I just don't like the AI running teams and I usually can find a friend or two that I can give a license to and squat on a team for me, but...their participation is mixed if they're not OOTP players.

So anyway, thoughts on 2nd teams. And specifically would you want one. I've already talked to a few people about this via backchannel, but want some other thoughts if they're out there. Contraction isn't off the table, if you all prefer that more.

Let's hear it from the peanut gallery.

I'd definitely vote for contraction before dual ownership.
