Rimworld. (Interactive/Community)

This week I've picked up Rimworld, a sci-fi colony building game that is as brutal as it is fun and hilarious. I haven't posted here much in the last year, but I've got the itch for a dynasty and Rimworld is the perfect game to deliver stories.

The developers say the game is inspired by Firefly, Dwarf Fortress, Dune and Warhammer 40,000. If you're interested in learning more: Rimworld official site

It is about base building, defending from raiders and aliens. It's about keeping people happy. The game is not about "winning" it is about creating a story. There will be hilarity, absurdity, bloodshed, marriages, fist fights, amputated legs and at some point we may even have to cook the group's dog. All in the name of science, exploration and survival.

So I need your help!

We're going to land on the planet dubbed FOFC and it will be populated with, you guessed it, all of us. If you're interested in our social experiment, please follow the guidelines below...

Name - make something up. Your nickname will be your FOFC username.

Skills - pick 3 that you would like to focus in. Remember, we're going to be working as a team, a nice spread of skills will be best.
Skills are: Construction, Growing, Research, Mining, Shooting, Hand to Hand and Social.

If you'd like to pick a backstory (not sure if I can select one, pretty sure I can), feel free to browse this list and pick one: Rimworld Backstories

Note: there are female characters they will marry, reproduce etc. Feel free to mix it up so planet FOFC isn't a complete sausage fest.

Once I'm out of the office and in front of my computer tonight, I will start writing a prologue and all that good stuff.

Ultimate goal is to get this started tomorrow night or over the weekend.

Thanks for signing up all! The initial crash site is 3 people. If I can't rename people who join the settlement, don't worry there will be future games. I plan to cycle through that way and either re-use characters or let you create new ones. But we'll see how long I can survive the first playthrough and going into it cold.
