Actual FOF topic..
Is it at all possible to have a profitable franchise while having the highest-paid coach and scout? It seems like coaching and scouting costs are really killing my bottom line - and I'm not overpaying to any obnoxious degree... I typically offer about 5% over the top salary in the league when I see a good young coach or scout become available.

I haven't found an easy way to make a franchise proiftable- Coach/Scouting costs tend to be one of my biggest yearly expenses (but I admit, i do overpay my staff).
Currently suffering Salary Cap hell in 2032 (with an injury prone veteran Stud QB who I can't cut because of the Cap cost).

Yeah, I miss the days of being able to sign undrafted rookies to seven-year minimum contracts, and being able to sucker the computer into trading a recently-signed star and absorbing the massive cap hit.

Sure it is possible. Get attendance up, and raise the price of your tickets.

I dunno... I've won back-to-back super bowls, attendance is still low, can't get a stadium built (anywhere), and, of course, I'm bleeding money. Maybe Jim needs to program a contraction option in FOF5...

Yeah, I've been patched. This was playing as Kansas City. Admittedly, it was about 8 years of mediocrity before I managed the first of two consecutive titles, but still... I had figured on attendance going above the 90% level after that.
I ended up bagging that game and started a new one with Buffalo. Got a brand spankin' new stadium with loads of luxury boxes approved on my first season... after going 5-11. Go figure. Of course, I'm still in the red - coaching and especially scouting costs seem to be the culprit, but I'm hoping the new stadium will help turn a profit once it's finished. |
