help with OOTP 13 realignment plan

Good morning all. This is something I talked about in an earlier thread, but I am planning on doing an expansion and realignment in my KC Royals game. I am bringing back the Montreal Expos, and I am also adding the Wichita, KS Wingnuts (a real independent league team). I also am going to realign into 4 team divisions. 4 divisions for each league. Where I am struggling at is names for these divisions, and how to realign the teams. I was thinking about going with a western conference and eastern conference. Divisions in the western conference could be pacific northwest (including canada), california, southwest, midwest. However I really don't know.

I do know I want the teams to be aligned as close to division rivalries as possible. For example, I want Montreal and Toronto in the same division. I want the Mets, Yankees, and Boston in the same division. I want the expansion Wichita team, the Royals, and St. Louis in the same division. Other than that, I'm lost. My mind isn't too creative, so can any of you guys help me out on this?

If anybody can help me set up a good realignment, I'll give you props when I start my dynasty report. Thanks all.

I find that it's a trial and error thing. You can always realign. Just put them in divisions roughly, see where they go and how they look and then shift things around. There's no perfect divisions and teams always have an awkward fit. Since you're doing it geographically it's easier than if you had two leagues AFC/NFC style because then you need to make sure there's geographic parity.

With this, you can basically have the league build around your setup. So just start plotting them in-game, see how they look and then I bet it'll come easier than plotting it in your head.

It'll be harder to work with three-team groups, because with a 4x4 setup, you'd have to adopt an orphan team, so to speak. For kicks, I'll give a crack at this alignment, making note of the pairs I go by.

thats pretty solid britrock. personally, i would hate it (lose all rivalries for the reds), but that's about as good a give-and-take as i could imagine

Who would you want the Reds to have? Atlanta is a tricky team to pair off.
