Up-to-date tax regimes?!?! ABOUT FUCKIN' TIME!!!
Sersiously though, I bought FM12 and haven't even played it yet, and now FM13 is coming out with all these new features? I keep chasing waterfalls, it seems. I think I will just have to wait and play FM12 when I get the itch. Great, great games.

to the point where a full season can be played out in eight to 10 hours
Oh dear God, they've actually addressed the one and only complaint I could make about FM. If that feature actually works I may never buy another game in my life. |

Yeah, I'll wait until it's on sale and probably pick it up. But I haven't been nearly as interested in any version since nerding out on FM10 and creating a massive custom db. With the lack of ability to edit easily or move edits between versions, it makes it harder to really stick with it when you have to start saves from scratch.
Still cool that the game will sim faster than ever before. |

I've always felt like FM was far to long and OOTP was far to short. Basically I want to have to spend enough time in a season that I grow attached to the players, but I still want to be able to guide a team through a few decades. I know you can pretty much play OOTP at any pace you choose, but it never really grabs me the way FM does. Hopefully this will be a little closer to that sweet spot. |

I like the idea of classic mode as it can be hard to find the time to play a lot of FM these days, but I will need to wait to see the feature set for FMC before I decide whether I want to play it or not.

Game changers are only for FM-Classic, not for traditional career mode (per the vid announcement apparently), just to clarify that. Star ratings by role (as well as position) - HALLELUJAH!!!

I always thought it'd be a good idea if FM gave the player an option of being the director of football instead of the manager, especially for people used to playing other sports management simulations where you don't have to play out every match and can cruise through a season rather quickly.

As has been mentioned previously - these are FMC only - The concepts are the same as I've used in FMH - they're optional and can be achieved through normal play or purchased if someone is impatient. (one of the important things to everyone at SI is that we don't devalue our games by changing our gameplay) Last edited by Marc Vaughan : 09-06-2012 at 06:19 PM. |

I kind of like the idea of revaming training but otherwise, meh. I'll wait until there is more info out but this may be the first year since 2004 I haven't bough CM/FM.

A bit disappointed about new features as the biggest one seems to be FMC. Hope the other 900 non named changes will be the ones that improve FM from 12 for me (long term Squad AI building being the top one i hope has been improved, hate how easy is to build teams just based on players available for free because have been released from their teams).
As for FMC, it seems to be the PC version of FMH, and maybe i'll enjoy it more than what im thinking right now, due to more limited time available. For what i have played FMH in the ipad, it's more close to CM01/02 that was the most fun version for me (could be also a case of selective memory). While i don't like simplified versions of games, and it's in fact the other way, the more depth the better for me, I must admit that the depth layers added in the past versions ended being more of a boring repetitive task than real depth (team talks and specially press releases). After those semi-negative comments, yes, i'm going to preorder as i do every year

The vast majority of that 900 are FM PC related, after all the entire idea of FMC is that its a 'lean' version of FM, not that its got hundreds of features in it |

I really like the director of football addition. Slogging through player sales/loans has always been a drag for me. One of the things I like about FMH, just put the guys under 24 in the reserves and let someone else set everything up.
I've lasted longer with a career than I ever have on any FM game with 12 and I'd hate to see that dynasty end. . . but I'm sure I'll be moving to FM '13 on release day. |

Everything's a video-blog this year regarding new features apparently.
I haven't watched any yet, but plan to do that tonight and will post a bullet-pointed recap (I haven't seen any such recaps of the videos out there). |

True. But I haven't had the time to listen to that either Would love to find a website where someone broke down the info in the podcast/videos into bullet points.

Was checking out the SI forums and noticed someone posted a 35% off preorder deal. It will cease after 100 redemptions. I just ordered using it, so it is probably still running. Dropped the price down to 26 bucks!

I ordered with that code over a week ago, so I assume that there is no maximum number of redemptions. I would order quickly just in case it is time limited. |

I have been fighting the urge to get this game for a few iterations now. But if they have added a true multi-player experience complete with leagues, uploads, etc (much like FOF), it would be hard for me to say no. A quick search on the InterWeb however shows that this might not be the case. Are there current FM leagues out there and I suck at searching? If so, is it the type of experience where one can run a career like the game suggests? Or is their definition of multi-player just going H2H with a few friends? |

Basically, MP is kinda like internet hotseat almost.. you all have to be on at the same time: Someone launches the game as a server, and others connect to it.. Past years, you had to muck about opening ports on your firewall and doing a lot of scut work to try to be able to play MP. This year it will be done through steam so probably will be much easier and simpler. If so, I will be running a FOFC netgame.
Also: RELEASE DATE TOMMORROW! Wait, before I get everyone's hopes too far off (DaddyTorgo, looking at you, don't run off just yet!).. this means the Release Date will likely be out tommorrow, apparently according to Miles's Twitter feed.

This is my problem with the series too... It's too deep to be a yearly title I say, especially without backward compatible saves.
