NFL doesn't accept political ads for the Superbowl. We have known this for a long while.

There's a whole industry of proposing Super Bowl ads that you know will get rejected (too racy, too political) so then you can get the viral views from the "The Ad They Didn't Want You To See" angle.

Yet they still let their employees make political statements during the anthem.

At least players are a part of the NFL. This is just some outsiders looking to stir things up.

Because stopping them just amplifies and extends the conflict. The NFL, more than anything else, would like this issue to go away.

As opposed to insiders trying to stir things up?

The NFL has a right to have a say in what commercials are aired during their games. I don't fault them for not taking a hard line against their own players speaking out on issues that directly affect them and their families.

If the kneeling thing bothers you that much, vote with your wallet and stop watching NFL games. That's what I do with companies that support things that I find objectionable. For instance, I stopped buying Yuengling because I disagreed with their owner supporting Trump publically.

Which isn't an advertisement from an outside group. If you can't see the difference, I can't help you.

I can tell that the NFL supports kneeling during the anthem and that they're opposed to promoting standing during the anthem.

Corporate ads started to get a little political last year, but I don't think they've run an ad from a specific group that only exists to promote a political message.

I say, let's just bring back the Bud Bowl. Bud has sat on it's 6-2 series lead long enough.

Despite the fact that the most well-known player who kneels has been unemployed for a whole season now when he is at least backup-quality as a QB.

After this issue's been in the headlines for months, and discussed in-depth by players doing the protesting and those who oppose it, don't expect anybody else to be impressed if an advertisement by a completely unrelated party is what makes up your mind on the matter

Well there's the vets problem, they just needed to slap a car logo on their ad and everything would be fine.

He's had plenty of replacements (including several 'Patriots')

This isn't a commercial on a network or affiliate, this is a printed ad in the official NFL Superbowl program. As I stated, given the public nature of the airwaves I'd be opposed to censoring a commercial, but the NFL ha absolutely every right to print or not print any ad in their own publication.

This gave me a chuckle this morning as I guess this might be a thing for Vikings fans for the super bowl.

Take over that crap town. Let them hear the Foles chant.

Sucks that the SB is there. If it was in a good location I would have gone, not to get into the game but to see the buildup and find a bar with fellow fans to watch the game.

You know it's nothing to do with the Eagles as a team, and everything to do with the the news and stories coming out about how Philly fans treated the Vikings fans last weekend.

If everything had been cool, and good sportsmanship and all that, I guarantee that every fan in Minneapolis would be cheering for the Eagles. You can't lay this one on them or the town.

The Vikings fans I know that made that trip were comparing it to a 3rd world country. None of the fun banter that goes on between Bears/Packers and Vikings fans. It was hostile and mean spirited. From the videos I have seen it looked like an underage drinking party outside the stadium with law enforcement supplying the alcohol.

This character pretty much sums up Philly sports fans. It's like Green Street Hooligans meets the NFL in Philly.

If Arizona was any indication, pass rushers for the Giants should love him. I see Todd Haley was hired by the Browns today which should make for some interesting games with Pittsburgh now.

My cousin's a Vikings fan; I don't know if he was in Philly for the game, or if he watched it at a bar, but he was reporting having been abused by Eagles fans during and after the game.

I know one anecdote doesn't condemn an entire fan base etc but at the same time what he reported didn't surprise me in the least. I expect it from that hive of scum and villainy.
