Are you taking off any work to watch the NCAA tournament?

Just put in for my 2 half days for Thursday and Friday afternoon. Every year I say I'm not going to do it (especially since my Flyers didn't get in), but every year I end up jonesing for those first four days, especially as Championship Week draws to a close.

Been watching Gus Johnson videos on Youtube this afternoon in anticipation. Even though he doesn't announce the tourney anymore.

I'll go home for the Syracuse game but I'll probably just DVR everything else and watch everything condensed and commercial free at night.

Define "off" - do you mean physically away from work? No. But I'll be watching. If UK was on during the day we'd essentially have a half-day at work. Usually they put the game on the 60 inch HD TVs in our big board room and order pizza for everyone.

We have a streaming TV server that I can pull any of the broadcasts up on my computer.

I'm hoping to take a half day Friday, will meet up with some buddies at a bar to catch the games and knock back a few. Hopefully everything goes smoothly this week and it works out.

Since the NCAA app is on Android and was free due to a promo, I plan on watching on my tablet at work. If I could, I'd work from home those 2 days, like I did the last 3 years.

Off means off. Not working, at home or somewhere else watching.

I am interested in those that let you watch from work. Please, enlighten me and forward me your HR contacts.

Ill be enjoying them days off. Not sure if it will be home watching college basketball or at the State Basketball Championships however. A local team made it so I am almost feeling obligated to go.

I'll watch from work. If I have it on one screen, it won't get in the way of the number crunching I need to do on the other screen.

I turn this into a meet and greet for customers. Find a bar, open up a tab, keep it running during the day and watch the games.

I have taken off work for years. Always set vacation around it. Now that I have my own business, I semi-work from home with the TV on. Usually catch up on some e-mails and paperwork during timeouts or slow periods.

Do have my brother coming over on Friday and we plan to eat a lot of food.

I mostly stop watching basketball at tournament time. Once CBS starts televising games, the last four minutes of a close game take about 20-25 minutes. That's too long. Every commercial break, even the short ones, takes me right out of the flow of the game.

I think college basketball could double in popularity if teams were limited to one time out per half, and networks reduced the number and length of planned time outs.

I just took a week off in between two jobs. Wish it would've worked out so it was this week instead. I might have to take a few days off to watch the European Soccer Championships instead this summer. Who is with me???

This is my new boss's first week in our restaurant. Originally I had requested nine days of vacation starting tomorrow, but my old boss warned my that my director probably wouldn't want me taking vaca during the new boss's first week. So I changed my vacation time to start on Monday, disappointed that I would miss the first round of the tournament.

Well, when our March schedule came out, I was happily surprised to see that I was scheduled Thursday and Friday off this week, simply by accident! So I get to watch my hoops, though I do have a bunch of school work that I have to work on during that time tomorrow. Friday will be all-hoop, all-day though...

If only there were 2-3 other games going on at the same time that you could flip to...

44% voting yes so far. I'm going to assume that's way over-inflated based on the amount of people who don't care and didn't open the thread.

A coworker asked me if I'd be willing to switch my Wednesday off with his Friday off.

I didn't argue all that strenuously. It means I get to watch the Missouri game!

I don't expect to be popular tomorrow.

I know I didn't vote because I don't watch NCAA games, and I presumed the poll was aimed at those who generally care about the games.

This is totally OT, but this is one of the things I absolutly do not miss abut the restaurant industy. They have ZERO respect for your personal time off.

I would think that scenario could apply anywhere. I had a couple days off scheduled last April, found out my new boss was starting that week and canceled it. If I had a real trip planned I wouldn't have, but was just gonna be hanging around.

I work from home and work mostly on my own schedule, so I put in some extra hours last night and today. I'll have to deal with production problems if that come up but otherwise I believe I've put myself in a situation to ignore work until Monday.

Kinda-sorta. I'll be taking Friday off, but I'll be heading over to Charlotte to see Mom and Dad. My sister's got a nice big TV, though. Only problem is State's game will be the in the first slot on Friday, so it'll be iffy at best that I get to see them.

I think I'll accidentally be taking work off. This flu just has me on my arse so I'm pretty sure I'll be home tomorrow.

So I'll be missing most of tomorrow's games, after work the family is off to the local pub to catch the Toronto Maple Leafs game, they're doing a draw for free tickets.
