East Bracket (Part A)

#1 - Anna Kournikova vs. #16 - Gina Carano

We already know who would win a tennis match or an MMA fight between these two, but would you rather Anna Kourikova or Gina Carano? Kournikova comes in as a heavy favorite thanks to her past FOFC HON performance but has been out of the spotlight lately while Carano is hoping to ride her recent performance in the movie Haywire to an upset.

#8 - Tina Fey vs. #9 - Rihanna

Tina Fey shocked some with her outstanding 78% HON performance back in 2008. Will she have the same support in the 2012 HONWYRMM tournament as she takes on the debuting Rihanna? This matchup has the potential to be a very close.

#5 - Keira Knightley vs. #12 - Yvonne Strahovski

This could be one of those classic 5 vs. 12 upsets that we see every year. A pending poll qualifier, some say Strahovski comes in very underrated due to her lack of name value. Knightley posted a solid 84% HON rating but that was back in 2006 and it remains to be seen whether she will draw as well against the newcomer Strahovski.

#4 - Scarlett Johansson vs. #11 - Rosario Dawson

Johansson is another HON qualifier from back in 2006 who posted a solid 85% and is just outside the top ten all time. Like Kournikova and Knightley, she will need to prove she can garner the same support over five years later. Dawson, an at large selection committee pick, is a true wild card who comes in very under the radar.

Voted Anna K over Carrano, but that was a close one for me.

Abstained from the Tina Fey matchup. Reluctantly voted ScarJo over Rosario Dawson, but that's a toss-up in a "meh" sense.

That's an unfair matchup for Rosario Dawson IMO. She'd be able to beat a lot of this field and she draws ScarJo in the first round.

Only one I paused over was Kiera vs. Yvonne. Ultimately I went the unknown.

I don't understand how Tina Fey is getting this many votes. I really don't.

Even though I'd rate Johansson higher on the 1-10 scale than Rosario Dawson, I get the feeling that Rosario Dawson is phenomenal in bed, so I vote her being as this is "would you rather".

Pretty easy choices here for me. Keira is basically a worse version of Portman as she needs to eat twice as many hamburgers as Portman does to improve her hotness.

I prefer Fey over Rihanna personally, though if this board had a larger percentage of non whites, Rihanna would likely be a lot higher.

I'm not sure that the name Yvonne is hurt as much in the name value here as opposed to the population as a whole. Though I'm probably on the extreme even here, I don't think I could tell you a movie Keira Knightley was in other than Phantom Menace while I've probably spend hundreds of hours between playing Mass Effect 2 and watching Chuck.

Rhianna to me is just another hip-hop-whore, never saw the interest in her, its all glam and phony and it comes across that way.

Pretty much the same with Anna K. She's little more than a popularity whore that sold her true talent down teh toilet for a couple years of being popular. Sad really.

Scarjo is SUCH an easy choice here. she's a dozen levels beyond anyone else in this set.

Looking for some quick feedback on poll length times before I start posting the additional brackets.

The first one was four days, which seemed excessive.

The second one was 72 hours. I'm contemplating cutting down to 48 hours though which I think should be enough.

Thoughts? 72 hours or 48 hours for the polls to stay open.

Depends how complete a picture you want. I think 48 hours would miss a lot of people who don't check in daily, but would allow you to actually get through this in a shorter period of times.

I voted for Gina Carano, but I found that to be a tough call. She is hot with the curves and the athletics, but hearing her in interviews is rough. She really sounds like she would be a crazy stalker. It would probably be a fantastic night, but a short life after that.

I've come to find out that 4 days seems like the sweet spot, especially with weekends and such. We get just as many votes on 4 days in HoN as we did with 7.
