Fantasy Football: Is this wrong?
So, week 16 is finally here. League championships, money and pride on the line. And, after 15 weeks, the championship of our 12 team league comes down to: Me vs. my wife...
So, is it wrong for me to actively root against her players? This has been a bit of contention over the course of the season as I may have cheered against her multiple times. She says that it is absolutely wrong and borderline betrayal. I think this is just gamesmanship.

If she is going to get mad that you root against her, especially for the title, she shouldn't play in the same league as you.

Just remember the title will bring temporary pleasure. But she will permanently control the nookie.
React accordingly. |

Easy to settle. It's not a real league if spouses are both in the league.

I was looking really good until Marshawn Lynch's long TD run (worth 13.9 points in our league). It comes down to her last player, Demaryius Thomas. And this really pains me as a Steelers fan to have to rely on the Bengals for anything. The current score is me 103.35 and she is at 87.20 with a projection of 101.53. That projection comes from Demaryius scoring 14.33 points tonight (akin to 143 yards or 83 yards with a TD). So it'll be a tense game tonight in our house. I've also bribed our son by promising him a bag of candy out of the $120 winnings so that he is actively rooting for me and trash-talking his mother.

Victory is mine! And I paid off the kid with a $2 bag of candy and am lording my victory over my wife at every chance. The league I'm in also awards a traveling trophy that's about 2 feet tall. I have proposed that perhaps it should sit on our dresser so that it can be the last thing she sees before we go to bed and the first thing she sees when she wakes up.

And until next season, when you climax, scream "CHAMPIONSHIP!"

Currently playing on our whole house speaker system is "We are the Champions" only my son has changed the words to "Dad is the champion". Santa may have a hard time making an appearance.

DeKalb, IL - Emergency crews rushed to the home of a local man today following reports that he was suffering from the unintended rectal insertion of a blunt object and hemmoraging quickly.
The man's wife, when asked for comment on the accident, said "I don't know what happened, really. He must have been doing something and fell on it. Anyway, I'm going to take these gloves off now." Likewise, a young child on the scene, when asked for comment, replied that he wasn't about to jeopardize his second $2 bag of candy this week. The man is listed in stable condition at a local hospital but is apparently refusing all visitors. |
