Turns out that latest one I posted grew up three doors down from a friend of mine. His wife was her teacher in grade school.

For Texas, before SCOTUS struck their law down, sodomy was defined specifically as sexual congress between two men. Georgia, until 1986, defined sodomy as oral or anal sex between two people, whether male-male, male-female, or female-female. I'd guess that Kentucky's law is closer to Georgia's definition than Texas'. Additionally, while SCOTUS has held that such bans are inconstitutional as far as they impact consenting adults, I'd imagine the reason the teacher was charged under Kentucky's law is because of the adult-child dynamic. Seems improbable that SCOTUS would hold that a ban on such activity between an adult and a child below the age of consent is unconstitutional. |
