That kind of hurts the village, since it kills off someone who would have been a villager (basically, by turning that person into a wolf and killing the wolf). But that might be less painful than a convert.

That's true, you'd have to balance it out somehow.

Having the villager converted would harm the village also, of course, but if the role you added was a strong villager one it might balance out. Alternately you could have the wolf and the villager die tonight, call it their night kill. I don't know if that's quite balanced, but maybe more so.

That probably makes it more fair from a villager point of view because the win ratio would be better with fewer wolves. With no NK tonight, it basically means the person who sent the PM ends up being the NK for tonight.

It sounds like you guys have already decided, but I was thinking that you could replace the player who was sent the PM in error. But that might not work since the villagers would know that person was a good guy. Of course that might be a fair punishment to the wolves who screwed up anyway.

GE has my respect for how he has handled this situation. He was the receiver. There was also a worry that GE may be figured out as a potentially mistaken PM sent to an "Eagle" if we went the route of exchanging their roles and killing off the sender. This also keeps the voting records in tact.

It looks to have been the fairest solution for all the players combined, though the least fair for him. He will not get a day one vote from me in a game that I play in with him. As long as PB is playing too...

The conspiracy is taking a hit for this. I will elaborate more on this post-game.

What we do now know is that GE, LSG and I are all good, so the RUm on CR was completely done by villagers. We also know that a lot of people said they felt DT was likely not bad there at the end and yet he was still the lynch. I think I am leaving my vote at this point, but any last minute reason not to lynch you CR?

It's too late to explain my reasoning, but just in general two lynched isn't an automatically awful thing. It puts more power to the village while limiting the impact of a night kill. Obviously it speeds up the game and we haven't had a great start though.
