Our 3rd was born in style!

Wanted to introduce to you all Henry Benjamin! He was born yesterday at 3:15 in the morning - in the front seat of our Caravan IN THE HOSPITAL PARKING LOT!! Most intense 37 min drive anyone could ever imagine!

Mom and baby are doing well and we're expecting them to be home tomorrow.

In the front seat of our van:

I recommend Weathertech floor mats (or the like.) The kind that are custom molded for your model car. They are great at protecting the carpet from anything.

Oh, and congratulations!

Holy shit. He is beautiful. My wife is due in a few weeks and went very quick the first time. Something like this happening is my biggest fear.

See, in hindsight your wife was right about the stop at the McDonalds drive-thru being a bad idea.

(Congrats.)

THat's insane my man. I know all about precipitous births. My little guy (our first) was born at home. My wife went into labor at about midnight and I had just laid down and my wife woke up feeling contractions. She jumped into the shower to shave her legs to get ready to go, then her water broke and less than ten minutes later I called 911 and they were at our house in ten minutes. While I waited I ran back and forth from our bedroom to the front door. Each time I came back to the room I could see the Ryan's head all the while I'm on the phone with the 911 operator...insane 20 minutes of my life... my wife was literally crossing her legs to hold the baby in. We get my wife onto the stretcher and into the ambulance and just as we pulled out of our driveway she relaxed and Ryan SLIPPED right out. He was born in our neighborhood yet. Thankfully in the hands of professionals (we found out later it was actually their first delivery....).

Ah, precipitous births...

Congrats. He looks strong and healthy! Have fun!!

Congrats, looks like the little guy's doing well. His method of birth reminded me of another FOFC birth from a while back:

haha, at least a nickname. Congrats, dude!

One of my buddies over in Germany delivered his baby in a German taxi-cab on the way to the hospital. Much respect.
