The FOFC cyberdunk team

Ok, here we start.

First at all here are the current active players in the other thread about cyberdunk that i started. There are for sure more FOFCers but those are the ones i found more active in the thread. I'm sure have missed somebody, if so, please post it here if you want to be part of the team.

I see we have around 17 players that are to much, i think that the max is from 13 to 15. Ideal would be probably from 10 to 12 to have 2 players per position + 2 reserves. I would love everybody to be into the team, but it would mean no playing time for most of us, and that is no fun at all. Even if somebody doesn't get into the team at first, it doesn't mean you will be in the future, as for sure some players will stop to play etc. Also please dont' get mad at me if i don't select you, this is just a game.

For what i see, we need to trim 6 players from the following list for the initial. I'll trim the ones with the lower value/lowest money but keeping a reserve list in case i can't sign those that I want. So please post here your updated player name, current team/division, if the team is human or computer owned, value, money, clothes owned, etc so I can decide who to sign and then try to do it. If you are in a human owned team, it could be more difficult to sign you up as he might not want to sell you or ask for a lot of money, in that case we woul dneed to wait for your contract to expire (sometime mid season). Please think it before requesting to be included in the team, there are a ton of FOFCers that would want to enter so only apply if you want to realy commit to keep playing, training etc.

Initial team (the top players per position who also apply in this thread will take the roster spot):

Centers
Manuel Martin 19.3 (BreizhManu)
Shinki Chen 18.9 (chinaski)
Shaq Wannabeme 18.69 (Cu tiger)
Hell Atlantic 18.23 (Hell Atlantic)

Power forwards
Ivan Carrillo 21.92 (Icy)
Sam Jolley 19.77 (rjolley)

Little Potato Young 19.38 (bad-example)
Jeeber D Mack 19.31 (JeeberD)

Small Forwards
John Snow 20.3 (Jag)
Joshua Wolfe 19.23 (Daedalus)

Shooting guards
Mikheal Jordanov 19.4 (ragone)
Rock Acewell 19.08 (joninmiddlega)

Point guards
Jace Hunter 23.46 (travis)
Caylan Nicoll 20.1 (K0rupt)
Al Mighty 20.1 (thealmighty)
Wade Moore 19.38 (wademore)

personally, london ballers sounds like a good first choice with the aus-based snow leopard the second. i don't mind a challenge but a daily drubbing would get rather old. these two clubs would put us within the competitive range and allow us to grow as we succeed.

oh. and i'm on the computer-owned team central andros in the bahamas division 6. money is just under a mil. accessory at 1 below top, cheap shoes that will be upgraded soon and have not started buying shirts yet. i would expect to be fully decked out by mid- to late-season with the betting situation.

Icy, I think you might want to request people put their stats in this thread as well so you don't get 10 defensive specialists for example.

I'd also prefer the London Ballers. Even if our average stats are higher than the rest of the division, we have no experience tactically so we're probably going to have a learning curve there.

Ok, as i see you guys are agreeing with me, let's start from the second division in UK and move up from there. I just purchased the team before anybody else does it.

Welcome to the Londom Fofc Ballers!

Btw, we can rename the team to whatever we want, but i just added the FOFC to the old London Ballers name as i like it.

The players in computer teams can be bought for $5000 that is pretty cheap (we have $4M available). We need to decide on the salaries too, i'll research now what are the usual payments for each player average, but for what i see in this team, salaries of about $600 per day for all the initial team players are afordable and above what we currently earn with our rookie contracts (doubled wages).

12 players at 600 per day for 70 days = $504,000 per season costs
12 players at $100 per win for let's say 46 wins = 55,200 per season costs

It means we would expend $600,000 per season in salaries from our $4M initial budget.

Our average income per home game is around $7000 x 23 home games = $147,000 income per season

We would be loosing money, at around $450,000 per season, so we have 3 seasons to improve our income.

Of course we should also get from $1.5M to $2M from selling the current players

Depending on what you need, I'm pretty sure I'm going to do the season CP skill boost, and once I know for sure what direction my player is going to take for concentration, might invest in custom equipment, but I'll probably just look at maxing out shoes/accessory from the in game stock this season and see how things go that way first.

I have fired some of the original players and put for sale the rest. I emailed all them saying that i was going to start from zero and that they will get zero playtime, so they better take the offer made to them by other teams.

I may consider putting in a little cash for CP points as well, but I'd want to know where I should concentrate those efforts first. So once we start deciding our tactics, etc. I can look into that.

For those non-anal people who haven't already mapped out their training, there's a thread I saw this morning that has a nice summary on getting the most out of the time you spend training.

I'm definitely probably missing a bit on training. I do not have a thorough plan mapped out by any means.

Greak link. Glad to know I was on the general path, but hadn't looked forward far enough to see how to approach training later in the next season.

We have a $600k offer for one of the PG's, i accepted it, hopefuly the player will accept it and we will get those extra $600k. I told the player that he will get zero playtime next season, so hopefully he will accept the offer. If he wants he can just wait a couple of days for his contract to expire leaving us with 0 extra cash, hope not

About betting, once we have this rolling, we can post here the best daily bets for those that dont' enter in the cyberdunk forums so we all can start making huge money.

I see my current team was just taken over by a human. One with little imagination and poor spelling, judging by the new team name.

I am ok with being a bench player or on the wait list since I will undoubtedly lag behind the bettors in development.

no under clothing at the moment but once the season's betting gets started, i am upgrading to either gold t-shirts or boxers. diamonds and pearls accessories are 3rd tier but relatively satisfactory until i have build the cash back up from upgrading the under clothing. also currently wearing the cheap shoes but will be switching to talomn favorite for a boost before building up to the final tier shoes.

Awesome! we sold the 29 valued PF for $2M when my starting price was $1.2M

We have close to $6M now!!

Btw, i have started to buy the best valued FOFCers that are in computer teams, please guys check your new contract offers and accept the one from the London FOFC Ballers.

I have not sent all the offers yet as i'm slowly considering everybody trying to make space for as much players as possible (some could play in another position if they have the right attributes) so don't worry if you don't have an offer yet, it doesn't mean i'm not considering you.

Ok, the league starts today and some of you have not signed your contract yet. I have sent you guys a PM here but if you don't sign your contract today, i'll offer it to the guys under you as the league starts today and our team is not full yet.

In the thread at the top, the signed players are the bolded ones .

Today's game (season 4 day 1):

x1.3 Bournemouth Mighty Ogres (27.26 average) vs London Fofc Ballers (21.89 average) x2.3

Starting lineups for today's game:

London FOFC Ballers:
C Manuel Martin 19.7
PF Ivan Carrillo 21.8
SF Joshua Wolfe 20
SG Mikheal Jordanov 19.8
PG Jace Hunter 24.2

Bournemouth Mighty Ogres
C Uowca Krokodylli 28.3
PF Keyser S?ze 31.9
SF Bruno Borja 26.7
SG Jes?s Morales 26.2
PG Sergio Dur?n 27.3

It looks as a secure defeat for us, as they are a way better team. Let's take this game to learn a bit about tactics.

Recommended personal tactics for you to setup for your players:

Starters play intensity: Normal
Backups play intensity: Hard

Shooting Parameters: Each one set the % to his best player abilities.

Play Style: Normal for everybody

Play Time: Normal for the players with good dribbling, short for the low dribbling players

Passing Preferences: Set it more or less even, with a higuer % to pass to our star player PG Jace Hunter

Depending on what rotation you're setting up, would it be better for all our players to be playing "hard" rather than "normal" to try and make up somewhat for the skill difference? Also, for those with higher handle skills, maybe extended play time to use up the shot clock and shorten the game (haven't checked yet to see how good they are at stealing)?

Guess what I'm mostly asking is are we looking to get an idea where we're at on default then experiment, or attempting to tailor our strategy at this point to try and minimize/maximize without getting a baseline for comparison?

I think for this game we should play more or less on default, to see how does the engine work and as anyway we are going to lose because the huge skills difference, then we will tweak it more for the second game.

Btw, the tactical options for the manager are really limited, just the following:

- Set starters/subs
- Minimum Stamina level to stay in the game (75% is default)
- Restrict a shooting range for each player (i can set any of you to not to shoot 3s or inside or floor)

The first problem i see is that i need to ser the minimum stamina level for the whole team, i can't set it for individual players/positions. For example, i would like the best players to play more and the less skilled players to share the playing time, but that is not possible to set individually but for the whole team. Maybe the way to fix this is to set the high quallity starters to normal playing style, to last more in the game, and the starting players in positions that are more or less equal in ratings than their subs, to hard so they will split more the playing tyime.

Good stuff, think I'm pretty well set, really curious to see how things go in this one.

I'm very excited about this one. I've set everything as Icy recommended, of course I'm guessing I see VERY little action because of my poor choice of position.

Tip-Off in an hour!

There's no way to see PBP without seeing the result first, is there?

I don't think so, but I'll be checking again today. The league I was in last year ran just around the time I finish work for the day so I never really had a chance to look into it, but the odd day I was at home I couldn't find an option to "watch".

Yeah. I see a pbp option, but i don't know how to get to it without seeing the score first.

Just read on their forums that Day 1 actually starts tomorrow, today is essentially a static day while they do some updates.

That said, before I found that out, I was able to navigate to the PBP option without seeing the score (creative squinting), so I'll be trying to do that tomorrow.
