Today is a secure loss, so play as you want, it won't change anything. The backups will play half of the game to get some fun

Nothing, it's just for the $ that you can win finishing in the top positions.

Most of the players say that the good bets come in the later part of the season.

Yesterday in a Cup game, my team played a team that only had five players...a PG, a SF, and three Cs. And we lost by 20 freakin' points. And we gave up 69 points to the SF...and he's that team's lowest rated player!

*sigh*

Our last league game was a ludicrous spanking. They had 4 players who had as many or more rebounds than our entire team put together.

Todays game is vs a team sligthy better than us. They all are good scorers but only their C is an awesome defender, the Sg is the second best defender so we will avoid them. Sorry about the backups, but this is going to be a close game and the starters will get most of the time. Btw, there is change, Wade Moore will play as starting SG instead of backup PG as he is a nice defender and we need defense today.

Recommended personal tactics for you to setup for your players:

Starters play intensity: HARD
Backups play intensity: HARD

Shooting Parameters: Each one set the % to his best player abilities but following this more or less:

C and PF: 75 inside, 20 floor, 5 three
SF: 20 inside, 60 floor, 20 three
SG and PG: 5 inside, 60 floor, 35 three

If any of you is really good at three, raise that value.

Play Style: Normal for everybody but the PG.
PG play style: Special team player (to lead on assists)

Play Time: Short for everybody to create more chances and to move the ball fast.

Passing Preferences: The C will receive less balls as he faces a good player.

For the PG's set it to:
C=5%
PF=35%
SF=35%
SG=15%

For the SG's set it to:
C=5%
PF=30%
SF=25%
PG=40%

For the SF's set it to:
C=5%
PF=35%
SG=15%
PG=45%

For the PF's set it to:
C=5%
SF=30%
SG=15%
PG=50%

For the C's set it to:
PF=25%
SF=20%
SG=10%
PG=45%

Please post here if you have changed your tactics acordly.

Updated, though you only have 90% worth of PG passing listed there, anywhere specific you'd like the last 10% spread out to? I bumped the high two up 5% each.

Awesome win vs a team a bit better than ours. I liked how Wade Moore played as SG using his nice defensive skills to shut down the opposite SG as planned. Wade will be used as starting SG in more games vs better teams, i'm even considering moving our star PG Hunter to SG as he is the best offensive player, and to start Wade as PG as he is better on defense and playmaking. Anyway i'll wait to know exactly all your ratings and equipment used as soon as i finish the tol i'm working on (hopefully tomorrow).

Sorry about the backup PF Jolley not getting any play time, i wonder why as i played Hard and should have tired out more. Anyway PF Joley will start the next game in compensation as I want some minutes for everybody and this should't happen (of course the best players will have more play time in close games like this as we need wins to avoid being relegated in this rebuilding year).

A little advice for the backups, train your defensive skills as most of the starters are specialized on offense, so if you specialize on defense, you will have more chances to play or even start vs teams that we need to shut down defensively (like i succesfully did with Wade Moore in this game).

For big players the defensive skills are:
Blocking
Strength (helps on blocking)
Stealing
Jumping (helps on blocking)

For small guys, the defensive skills are:
Stealing
Speed (helps on stealing)
Blocking
Jumping (helps on blocking)

Just on my last +5 training segment currently and after a couple more successful bets I'll be able to afford one of the 1.45 million dollar items. Do you want updates in this thread/via pm when we make a change to our items or as manager do you see the differences those make?

Just curious as I'm going to start training specific skill sets soon, but the biggest difference will be swapping out my starter level gear for a top end piece which doesn't reflect in overall rating.

Yeah the equipment is not taken on account for the ratings averages, that is why i'm setting up the tol to track exactly all your skills and equipment used. tomorrow i should get it ready.

About your PG, you are nice scoring, but it seems you need more defense and playmaking. Please PM me your ratings.

Don't forget the bets! Us new guys are needing them. . .the betting thread is really cluttered. Like the "trust" factor of reading 'em here too.

Wow, great to see me used as a key cog! I'll keep emphasizing defensive type skillsets so we can continue to do that in the future.

We face a superior team today, so we will lose for sure, time to experiment. I knows it's too late so maybe you wont' have time to change tactics, if you do, pelase do the following:

Wade Moore, i'm going to try you as PG so set your playing style to "special team player".

Travis, i'm going to use you as SG, so set your playing style to "normal".

For the rest, play on Hard and set the passing preferences to be mroe or less equal between the positions, with a bit higher % to the PG to distribute the ball.

I could probably float to sf if you need a more offensive lineup.. considering my size (6'5) 1-2 more good bet will give me enough to get my 2nd piece of maxed equipment

I finally got my first MoM! I scored 30 points, had five assists, one steal, and *cough*41rebounds*cough*.

Of course, I'm sure part of that was due to the fact that the team we played only had four freakin' players, and one of them fouled out fifteen minutes into the game. We wound up beating them 146-30... :o

Dola-

I just figured out why mu numbers were so out of whack (I averaging about 8 assists and four rebounds before this game)...I got played out of position for the first time, at center. Apparently I like being at center. Or at least being at center when the other team is running with only three guys.

We lost yesterday game as expected, they were way better than us. For today's game we have a chance as they have awesome big guys but not that good small ones, so let's exploit that.

Recommended personal tactics for you to setup for your players:

Passing Preferences: The C and PF will receive less balls as they face better players.

For the PG's set it to:
C=10%
PF=10%
SF=40%
SG=40%

For the SG's set it to:
C=10%
PF=10%
SF=35%
PG=45%

For the SF's set it to:
C=10%

PG=45%

For the PF's set it to:

Today's high risk bet:

x5.5 Deimon Pretty (C 16.09)- Kawasaki Sardinians (C 14.54)
Japanese Division 7

Very risky, but 5.5 is huge, i just bet the max of 35k and could win over 150k

Didn't get the chance to update my tactics, but we pulled off the win!

Another great game by both Ivan and Jace to pull out a dominant win (140-77) against a team that was rated higher than us.

Great gameplanning Icy! I see I got another 30 mins at shooting guard, you seem to be finding the right way to use me with falling just 1 assist short of a double-double and me apparently playing very aggressive getting 8 foul shot attempts.

Looking at the team coming up their interior is TERRIBLE. So i'm going to take a wild guess and adjust my tactics backwards of last game to feed it to the inside.

I really like our teamwork, we have no big stars besides Hunter, but we are a deep team and the backups step up always when needed, when most of the teams we face have great starters but no backups.

I'm really looking forward to finish the online tool to manage the team, but my new baby is givnig us bad nights, so i'm sleeping during the day and have no time to finish to code it, hopefully i'll write some more code today after the Dolphins game.

Apparently my player has been murdered due to my pointing out that losing 204-7 is a tad bit ridiculous. Carry on...

I'm very happy with how this is working out so far. It's fun to care about how the other players do, the team, etc - and nice to see that the backups make meaningful contributions unlike other teams.

The London FOFC Ballers admin site is up, please go there, click on your player, then click on edit player and add your current ratings adn used equipment to your player. You need a password to fill your info, that password will be messaged to you into cyberdunk, go to your inbox and you will see there a message from me. Once you have finished to edit your player, check your player page against your cyberdunk one to check if all the ratings and equipment are ok. I have added an extra field, your average rating adding your used equipment.

It's a basic site as i wanted to take care first of the programming, i'll make it more pretty later and will add more features. Please let me know if you find any problem.

I'm going to use this to help on tactics decission etc, so the sooner you fill your info, the better.
