OK, sign-ups are closed. I'll be working on final game balance stuff and creating all of the remaining alternate characters. I'm anticipating sending out PMs Sunday afternoon/evening. Feel free to begin posting when you get your PM - just remember to use your alternate ID.

For those of you who want to avoid the nuisance of switching between your "real" name and "game" name I would suggest having two different browsers open (IE and Firefox, for example) with credentials saved. Just don't screw up and cross-post

There is no in-game penalty, but we did tell Skydog that the "game" accounts would not be used in other sections of the board.

Five more characters left to create. Then I get to start sending out the PMs, most likely late afternoon, early evening.

Learned something interesting along the way - Yahoo stops you from creating more than ten new accounts in a 24 hour period. So some of the accounts will be tied to MS "Live" accounts instead of Yahoo.

This potentially will be of interest to a few people once the game is underway ...

The power of Apocalypse has grown over the past five years. The defeate of "The Twelve" was the last significant heroic resistance effort in North America. New York City was reduced to a smoldering ruin when the remaining heroes crashed the Celestial ship in a last ditch effort to stem the tide. However, it was for naught as Apocalypse and his minions escaped unscathed.

The battle is now focused on the other side of the world, where consolidated European and Asian forces have succeeded in thwarting Apocalypse's advances. Still, defeat seems just a matter of time as Apocalypse controls the vast majority of super-powered humans and an arsenal of high-tech weaponry that has no peer in all of the world.
Still, there are those who would oppose the rule of your sovereign. Most of the rabble are quickly identified and either integrated or exterminated. But this morning there is a more serious plot afoot.

A holograph of Mr. Sinister, the chief scientist for Apocalypse, greets each of you. Before him is the nearly unrecognizable body of Moon Knight, the former First Prelate - second only to Lord Apocalypse! "It seems we have traitors in our midst. It is the will of Apocalypse that this threat is contained using whatever force you deem necessary. Those who serve will be rewarded. As for the rest of you ... the future is not as promising."

Nick Fury here. I'm working my many sources inside the human resistance to convince them once and for all to succumb to the mighty Apocalypse as there is no other choice for survival. I leave for an undercover mission in the European resistance in the morning. As the former leader of S.H.I.E.L.D and the mediator between mutants and humans I am trusted by both sides. I will use this to our advantage to finalize this new world order that will bring peace to our world. Hail Apocalypse

I have a specific schedule during the week. On Mon/Wed/Fri I leave around 10:30am eastern and get home around 6pm eastern. On Tue/Thu I leave around 10:30 am eastern and don't get home until around 1am eastern. I do have a 45 minute window to get up to date and make votes at about 6pm eastern on those two days and more time for reading in the morning/evening. Unfortunately my work blocks this site, so I can only get access outside the times mentioned here.

I will role play reasons for my schedule during the game. Those are meant to add to fun, but the real reason for absences is my schedule.
