Getting rid of old sports cards

I've been working on cleaning up the basement and I've got quite a number of Hockey and Baseball cards from the 80's and 90's. I'd like to get rid of them and I don't really feel like going through them looking for any of value. What's a good way to unload them? The simplest is to just put them in the trash, but that doesn't feel right.

I sold all of mine as a lot on ebay about 15 years ago. I just gave a rough idea of the timeline, amount, brands and sports involved, and maybe a couple of highlights. Obviously you're selling them for less then they might be worth if you put more time into it, but I was glad to give them to a collector. It was also someone local, so I was able to meet them somewhere to hand them over, rather than deal with shipping.

I sold mine as a lot on nextdoor when I moved last summer. I tried asking some retail outlets but they wanted no part of anything from the 80s or later.

In HS, a friend of mine used to help old folks clean up their houses for a church project. I was with him when he helped one of my neighbors and when we were done the guy gave us a box of old hockey cards. We were splitting them up and came across a Wayne Gretzky rookie card, and another, and another. We counted 20 of them when my friend decided the box should be all his since it was his project. No idea what happened with them after that.
