the team I'm trading with keeps saying I will not take on the salary of this player. Is there anyway you can pay for that players contract, to appiease the other team?

In the past, I've been able to renegotiate a longer deal with my player in this circumstance. It does not work every time but that has, sometimes, allowed me to then trade the player because the finances are more appealing to the other team.

Maybe it's a bit gamey, but it is working within the parameters of limited trade mechanics. So I'm cool with it.

Good recommendation from Colly. It does work, sometimes.

In older FOF version you could sometimes add a player from the other team to the trade to get them to accept. Unfortunately, not able to do that in FOF9.

There's no way to straight pay for a player. It isn't done in the NFL, so it isn't in the game.

No, and from what I've heard I might be inclined to think it's intended. Many games let you pay another team as part of trades, but IIRC the design philosophy of FOF is that this is unrealistic (which it is) and makes it much easier to make a stacked team in a salary capped league (which it does). Furthermore your POV is as the owner (being able to move the team and decide to build a new stadium among other decisions) and it wouldn't make much sense to pay money to someone whose working for another team.


I also don't think that has ever happened in the NFL and the legality of such a trade might be dubious at best but I wouldn't mind hearing sources or examples to the contrary.
