OT- Playstation 2 Freezes at Madden 2004 load screen

Just wondered if anybody else had this problem. I noticed it happens a lot to me with madden games and I cant even get 2004 to work. I start an owner mode, or do a quick game, but everytime at the end of the load bar to actually play a game it just sits there.

I had already done that. Its not a Disk Read Error. I had that problem, and did the fix for it. Just, the game freezes at the load screen for the game. I load Madden..all fine and peachy, click quick game, pick my teams, pick what team I want..the load bar goes across but it just sits there.

Hmmm... could be the game then. Can you take it back? Maybe EA will exchange it for a small fee?

I had the same problem with NCAA Football 2004 on my PS2. Whenever I used a created team to play either another created team or a Div 1-AA and even some Div 1-A teams the loading bar would just freeze. I've not found an answer yet. It worked on one's friend PS2, but on another's it didn't. I bought a different copy of NCAA, so now I have 2, but they both do that.

But if I play a D-1A vs. D-1A or D-1AA vs. D-1AA or D-1A vs. D-1AA it'll work.

Here's what I do for any new title that I get.

Go to wal-mart. Go to the Help Desk, or whatever you wanna call it.

Say it's a 'defect', and they'll let you get the same game, no charge.

I've done this three times now. I don't know why my games die so fast, but it's fine to do it that way.
