OT - Sweet revenge for my fav soccer team: FC Utrecht
FC Utrecht won the Amstel Cup, Dutch version of the English FA Cup, third most important sports event in the country, with a trashing 4-1 victory at Feyenoord.
The Article doesn't tell that Utreg lost 3-2 in sudden death overtime last year to Ajax (also in the Feyenoord stadium) after a 2-2 offside (at least 5 metres) equaliser by Ajax in the injury time. Forza Utreg, olé, olé. Now hoping Utreg can avoid relegation next year, with the club facing bankrupcy and losing the top 5 players... |

Rennes won the Gambardella cup, French U-18 cup, with a 4-1 victory over Strasbourg, since the only thing they've got is young talent (and money), that's a good thing.

This is a difficult time for me. Inter lost a spot in the Champions League final to AC Milan, without actually losing. Then Milan goes to beat Juventus for the UEFA Champions League title, without actually beating them either. They then win the Italian Cup today by tying AS Roma (granted, they did win the 1st game 3-0).
The closest I can compare for folks back in the US is the Yankees-Mets rivalry. Except here in Milan, Inter has won quite a few trophies, just not as many as AC Milan. Maybe I should go back to concentrating only on American sports...
