Question Offensive Lineman - Solecismic Test

What are the advantages of an offensive lineman with a high solecismic test score? There doesn't seem to be anything in the guide. Fewer penalties? Anything else?

There is a beast left tackle available in my draft but his test score is an 8. Then there is an average left tackle with bad run blocking with a 38 test score. What direction do I take? Grrr! I love this game but sometimes I'm fumbling for answers around game mechanics. I guess I just have to accept that I have to trail/error some things on my own.

Penalties.

The real question is, how many more penslties and how bad are penalties?

Say you figure out the 1st part and one OL is quite good but gets 20 yards in penalties a game, Is he better or worse than a guy who is solid but only gets 5 yards per game?

ICYMI the advanced stat tracker of whatever it is called that someone in the community created grabs player penalty data though if you ask me it'd be easier to just search the game logs for a few games to get a better idea

Is Solecismic score related to penalties? This is news to me.

For offensive linemen, I only look at SOL score as an absolute final tiebreaker. For some reason I feel like the player with the higher SOL score is less likely to bust.

Remember that the SOL score is basically an "IQ Test" kind of thing.

Well, Ushikawa is spot on. From the help file. A higher sole score contributes to higher intelligence.

Intelligence - A player's intelligence, which helps them become mentors and avoid suspensions for bad behavior. Smarter players commit fewer penalties.
