Yeah, I gave you big points for trying. Most times the villagers just give up when they're stuck in these situations.

I didn't think a dark charm would have to start with a wolf. Didn't have anything to base that on, but it seemed like items were probably just random.

And I really don't think you would have night killed J23. Would you? And leave Dubb alive?

Most definitely for the same reason you would have, he was hard to get people to go to because he didn't draw attention to himself, basically came on to defend himself. The only reason I thought I had a shot is because he slipped asking about items and mentioned the dark charm. I take my chances with you and dubb though because I think I can convince dubb to go on you, because frankly if it the three of us I think you were probably the wolf, not 99% sure like I was J23, but maybe 55%.

An hour later, the three of you are eating dinner, and Commo_Soldier is looking very pleased. He looks down to put his spoon into his bowl and looks up to see J23's vacant eyes staring back.

In an instant, J23 was slain.

Commo_Soldier looks confused. His asking gaze moves to Autumn, where it meets the gaze of...himself?

Autumn's eyes glow dark, and his body shifts. His arms become ropey tentacles and reach for Commo's neck and back. They enwrap him with a speed unheard of. The Pressure is immense, and bones begin to break.

"I will enjoy being back in my normal form, Deadbringer."

The Flame spared Commo_Soldier, but the shapeshifter that killed and replaced Autumn will not.

A few weeks later, arriving to investigate what had happened in Cape Gireaudeau, a Lightbringer sage discovers that the whole group has been destroyed. At the World's Fair in Chicago, the Red Death infects the mind of all of those who attend, and it's power spreads even more.

Meanwhile, the sage finds Autumn's corpse, dug in a shallow grave. It was killed in the exact same manner as CrimsonFox, and he determines that CF was a shapeshifter for a while as well, before moving to a new person.

Although the Lightbringers have been dealt a grievous blow, they are used to setbacks. The value in fighting against the Red Death is not in victory, but in the decision to do it at all. That is the source of man's virtue. To stand for right knowing you will fall for it.

The Servants of the Red Death have won! CrimsonFox, Zinto, Autumn, Narcizo, EagleFan and ntndeacon are victorious.

Shapeshifter – You cannot be found by an Adept. Once, during the game, at night, you can use a corrupt action, Replace Another by killing yourself to take the place of a player. You will reveal the corpse of the one you killed and replaced beforehand, and the group will think you died, and that you were a roleless Lightbringer, and you will stop playing the game. The person who would otherwise been night killed will become a Shapeshifter. If the kill was unsuccessful, this ability is not lost. This is one of only two corrupt actions that can be taken after Night Four. You may not be given any other corrupt actions, unless you are the last Servant left. You can be given kill actions.

One wrinkle in my favor, I wasn't converted N1 or N2 at all. CF converted me and I took his place, the night he died.

One wrinkle not in my favor, they handed me a game where all four of them were already outed. lol

Great call Mau, I thought he was it yesterday, but when J23 was alive I really thought it was him. I was hoping that my surviving the flame would give me some sort of ability to beat the wolf one on one, that is why I was trying to be the one to face him. Again congrats Autumn, you killed the right person yesterday.

When I saw that dubb and I were dead, I had a feeling it was Autumn. And I think I would have voted Autumn if I was still alive. Even though Commo pinged the hell out of me for pushing bug I really didn't think he was a convert.

I just want to say, for the record, that I loved the Shapeshifter role. It's my favorite Servant Role.

Good job Autumn. Fun game overall, but man was there some crazy villager play at different times over the course of that game. Including myself for at least part of it (Bug decision day).

Was Crimson a variant on a cunning wolf?
What wolf role did Autumn have?
Who were the originals, and who was converted (and when)?
What was the difference between corruption/conversion?
What roles did the corrupted players have?
What did each of the items do?

Yeah, I think it was a pretty deft move to take Dubb out, but that only worked because of your deadline shenanigans, and their reactions. I was starting to lose control of things before that.

Still I'm going to give myself some credit for the best wolf game I've had.

5 - Shapeshifter and Succubus
6 - I'll give you some, but maybe not all

Yeah, I messaged Abe with my kill list. You and Dubb were definites. I could tell you would be on me soon. And Dubb I knew would help me with Mckerney and Commo, but only so far. He actually caught on too quickly why I had left him alive an additional night.

Congrats to the evil guys and thanks Abe for another great game. I think this game has to be some kind of record for villagers willingly lynching roled players. I think we got pretty sloppy and lazy there towards the end lynching the martyr and the real sheriff.

That's what happens when there are is not only one conversion, but the chance for multiple Thomkal. It drives people crazy with paranoia. I can only imagine how the voting would have gone if Narcizo had -stayed- a villager.

Yeah, watching all that happen I realized how much the wolves help stuff like that happen just by being silent. One more unbiased voice may be all it needs to make people realize they're being stupid. But by having the wolves sit back, not even necessarily feeding into it, the village can do some not smart things.

Note on items:

Everybody started with a random item, and here were 16.

There was no "wolf list" and "villahge" list because I didn;t want you to be able to figure out who was who based on item info.

It was totally random that the powerful Charm Against Detection went to a wolf, and the weakest one.

Most items were defensive in nature. For example, the Baseball Bat protected you from minor undead like the Exorcist did. Spring of Garlic protected you from Vampires, etc.

The most powerful item in the game is the Colt Peacemaker, and you luckily had a roled player with it, but it does;t work when attacked by a lycantheope, so he was killed by the werecroc.

Kind of surprised I lasted so long, maybe because it was my second game. The sad thing is I never went back to the last few days and lost all suspicion for autumn because J23 survived and one of his first comments of day 11.

Items compared to last game:

Sprig of Mistletoe renamed Sprig of Holly

Lantern of Substance kept the same

Tincture of Iodine keeps the same name, but different ability, Tincture of Camphor got the old ability, etc

This was a game of mistakes. We thought that CF could transfer the same ability to Autumn or he would have stayed around another day or so. Once we saw that Autumn couldn't use that ability we thought we were screwed, especially when that was the day that I screwed up the the premature reveal. I was convinced that bug had scanned me and was waiting for me to vote that I figued I would go on the offensive since first reveal usually wins. I had little time to be on the site that day and had to make a quick decision and went with it.

The use of A detective was actually from a wolf PM when I tossed out the idea of a fake reveal (saw that I was already the early leader in votes). A response I received was s suggestion to say that I was a detective. I thought maybe I missed that there may be multiple detectives so I went with a instead of the. I obviously couldn't say that when I was asked why I said a.

Then when sun was killed it says the detective in the writeup. I was waiting for someone to bring that up but no one did.

It was amusing to see the village lynch their claimed seer and bodyguard.

mau, I really think you needed to do something during the Bug day - there was so much cross-revealing stuff going on, but if we had a reason to believe that Narcizo was lying about his revealed role on top of EagleFan being countered by SnDvls (sort of) then it would have been a pretty different set of criteria to evaluate. The 2:1 against Bug is what did it for me ... I didn't see the wolves throwing two members at him.

I know next game I probably will include the Lifegiver and make it bring somebody back only on the night after they died. That's an important change to make to the rules set.

Oh the scroll of wrath? It was me of course! Wasn't gonna let you get away with that fake detective reveal EagleFan. So yes dubb that's why I KNEW it was an item and not a wolf power. I have no idea why you went that route, especially since you turned out to be a villager. If the Servants hadn't killed me, I was ready to reveal that and come after you and try to keep mauboy from being lynched...which probably wouldn't have worked.
