NHL 10: The Isles Reclaim Glory?
This dynasty will be following my journey to fix the New York Islanders. I will be using Turner's settings, playing on Hardcore Superstar mode with 12 minute periods.
I will play 1 game and sim 2. Last edited by DeToxRox : 10-08-2009 at 03:18 PM. |

Owner Goal
We get a message from the owner that he expects 35 wins this season. I figure that is doable, though this is a young team so I could see us struggling just a bit at times. We'll worry about that when we get there though. |

Reading and count me as being happy to see Schremp starting up there with Tavares. Should make that line pretty potent offensively though you should probably warn the D and DiPietro that it'll be like a 5 on 3 if/when the puck makes it into the Islanders zone

Game 1: New York Islanders vs Pittsburgh Penguins
Welp, there was good news and there was bad news. The good news was despite being out shot 45-18 we were never once out of the game. The bad news was were fucking out shot 45-18. With that said, we lost 2-1 to a clearly superior Pens team, but we had some stuff to build on. Summary First Period - No goals - Craig Adams (PIT) was given a 5 minute misconduct and a game misconduct for his slash on Trent Hunter that left Hunter with an injured wrist. Hunter would stay in the game. Second Period NYI: Josh Bailey (Unassisted) PPG 1-0 NY PIT: Sidney Crosby (Kunitz, Orpik) 1-1 PIT: Chris Kunitz (Unassisted) 2-1 PIT Brendan Witt and Eric Godard get 5 minutes for fighting Doug Weight and Bill Guerin get 5 minutes for fighting Bill Guerin gets injured in the fight with Weight Third Period - No scoring Post Game Notes - Bill Guerin fractures his jaw and will miss the next week for the Pens - Trent Hunter and Andy Sutton both have injured hands but both will be able to suit up |

Well as the summary showed, we were out shot by around 30, so your warning was for sure noted for the future. |

Weight fighting Guerin huh? Would love to hear the trash talk leading up to that one, and especially the words said after

GAME 2: OTT 3 - NYI 0
GAME 3: NYI 3 - BOS 1 Two games that show the highs and low we'll have as a team. In the Sens game we just couldn't do much with the puck, only getting 19 shots on LeClair, while the Sens peppered DiPietro with 35. Our defense is obviously not much of a strength but I hope to see some improvement. In the Bruins game we did get some improvement, only allowing 28 shots, while Kyle Okposo netted 2 goals, both of which were assisted on by Tavares. Bergenheim would also add an insurance goal in the third to give us our first win of the season. |

It was the most accidental fight ever. I was trying to hit Y to board play in the corner but I forgot to switch off Weight to do it, and next thing I know Guerin is accepting the fight. I just tried making it quick and somehow Guerin ended up on the ice and then out of the game. Bitch. |

Game 4: Islanders vs Kings
Pregame Notes: - LA G Jon Quick is out four weeks with a hamstring injury. Bernier will start in his place. - NY D Andy Sutton is still banged up but he will continue to play through it. LA 4 - NYI 0 Just a hideous game. It was 2-0 until the end when the Kings scored on a penalty shot and then on a 5 on 3. Shots were 39-21 in LA's favor as we couldn't do much in their end. LA Goals: Stoll, Kopitar (1), Frolov (Penalty shot), Kopitar (2) [PPG] NY Goals: None Notes: Brendan Witt and Ratis Ivanas fought twice Jack Johnson and Freddy Meyer fought Dustin Brown and Andy Sutton fought As you can see I got pretty pissed at the end. |
