yeah, there are a lot of foods that my mom cooked a certain way and once I went out on my own it was nice to try stuff differently. For example, I never knew roast could be done in a way that made it juicy instead of dry.

Yeah, it wasn't til I grilled one when I was around 30 that I knew it could have a juicy, smoky flavor on its own, without having to season it to death.

My wife makes a healthier shame and bake out of parmesan cheese, some slides and a lil Frank's and then bakes them. Boneless pork chop steaks. They are amazing

The one I work at is fairly well run but we don't do major volume.

Always do crushed tomato sauce and pan crust. The pepperoni/sausage/bacon(especially)/meatballs/beef topping and pork topping are all things you should never order. The veggies are mostly cut fresh and if you stick to ham/salami/chicken and veggies u should be fine. Stuffed crust is fairly bad as well.

But if I'm doing that then I'm just not bothering with pizza at all :/

Then again, I'm down with Little Caesar's for my simple pepperoni fix so not a huge deal.

I don't know if it's just bad luck but I either get one that doesn't have enough delivery drivers to handle volume. Or one that just screws up every single order somehow.

That's the big difference in the chain places and the Chicago pizzerias. We take meat very seriously for the most part. I'm actually surprised that Pizza Hut and Dominos are able to make it in Chicago. We didn't have a Pizza Hut till recently and I think it's mostly for the DePaul college campus. When my brother moved out of state it's the thing he complains about the most.

The only reason I order on occasion is that I lived on that in college. We had a Pizza Hut in the university commons and you could use your meal card for a personal pan and breadsticks. Sometimes I just crave the breadsticks to this day.

I'm at the point now where I always have fresh mozzarella and fresh pepperoni on hand for whenever I get frozen or delivered pizza. There's only one place left where I'll eat it as is and that's a local that makes the best pizza I've ever had.

The breadsticks and cheese sticks are always on point. I hate little Caesars other than the deep dish. Pizza Hut online specials are on point, of course ymmv. We're running 2 medium pans with any toppings for 14$ which is decent I guess. As long as you avoid the sausage and bacon.

The crushed tomato sauce completely changes pizza Hut for me. That sauce is really good. That plus the hut's favorite crust is a decent pizza.

I haven't been near a Pizza Hut that does cheesesticks well in along time. They're always either overcooked or soggy. At one point many years ago they would season them as well, which they don't seem to do anymore. Little Ceasars jalapeño cheesebread beats them hands down now.

I have been let down by just about every Pizza joint in town recently, so I decided to try Pizza Hut again based off of some of the latest comments about sauce flavor and crust topping - I can't avoid pepperoni or sausage though lol. Talk about setting expectations low though. They said it'd be around 1hr 45m before it'd be delivered which seemed a bit over the top. Of course it arrived in about 25 minutes.

I've never had a pair of nice socks, but lately I've been having a big issue with dry skin on my feet (to the point that they bleed sometimes). So I do some googling and a lot of places recommend foot baths with epsom salt and to scrub them with a pumice stone. After, put on a pair of thick wool socks to hold the moisture in so your feet don't dry out.

At first, I thought no way I was going to pay a lot of money for fucking socks, but saw that they weren't expensive at all on Amazon. All I've ever worn before were dress socks (thin and uncomfortable as hell) and standard white cotton or polyester socks, usually Hanes. So along with the foot bath, epsom salt and pumice stone, I ordered 5 pairs of wool socks (blended with rabbit fur).

Did the foot bath, scrubbed my feet, and as I soon as I slipped those socks on, I knew I was never going back.

Did you have to buy new shoes, since you are now wearing 5 pairs of socks?

Last year, I found a training that I wanted to attend. It was in Vegas. Which was a great side benefit, but I actually wanted to attend the training regardless of where it was.

My boss nixed the idea. He said that he knew me, and he knew that I wasn't just angling for the Vegas trip, but that the government auditors don't know me and trips to Vegas really get their attention.

Anyway, the point is, I'm jealous

I was hoping my session got picked for Black Hat so I could go as a presenter. But it didn't and I didn't even make it as an attendee.

My company budgets to send 3 people every year. One is always for our head security guy (duh), the other two get, shockingly, hotly contested. I lucked out.

Spiffiest part? One of the after hours parties the sponsors put on is an Alice in Chains concert.

Tell him that there are many government-only conferences that take place in Vegas.

Good to see we're only about 3 hours into the season and ESPN.coms score tracker is already as unreliable as ever. Unless a bunch of games midway through the 3rd quarter suddenly reverted back to half time. Oh and the Falcons had a 3rd and 22 from the Redskins 20. It feels like I'm play Maximum Football all over again.
