bignej...when are you available to lose your first game this year? I'm on the west coast, and I get home around 5:15 every day this week, which means I'm usually ready to go around 5:45 or 6. Let me know what works for you.

Just finished my game vs MSU and this was the most fun I ever had playing NCAA 09 as we beat Sparty 70-17.

I really felt like I was playing HA out there.

MSU has no pass D. At all. I just gave up running and went to the air, seeing a school record for passing with Steve Threet who was 42 for 56 for 556 yards and 4 TD.

14 different Wolverines had catches.

Roughly 15 visitors at the game.

Better get something out of this.

I bet ol' Lou still found a reason to highstep out of bounds. Perhaps he didn't lose yardage on a play or two?

He had one gem down 49-7 where on 4th and 1 he caught a screen and ran out of bounds for an 8 yard loss.

He's got game, and I miss my Stanford Quarterback

Indeed, I fell to 6-3 and he remains undefeated. Next year though, when my starting stud HB isn't out for the season (that was a nice little surprise when I logged on) and my QB doesn't throw like Marcus Vick...it will be a different story.

Revenge will be mine!!!

That's pretty odd...

The Ohio State Buckeyes battled it out all game long against the Penn State Nittany Lions. This one came down to an onside kick with just over a minute left, that for some reason took 1 regular bounce then took off 30+ yards downfield before it was recovered by the Buckeyes. It ended with a 30-27 Buckeye win in what was probably the most closely faught game I've played.

It was very frustrating watching my QB miss his WR's by 10+ yards all game long, and throw passes right at defenders off to the side when a his receiver was wide open. Ohio State is a hell of a team, and the 99 rating accross the board is definetely an accurate representation.

Great game bignej, and good luck the rest of the way. I look forward to playing you again next season.

Ohio State wins 30-27 over Penn State. I don't think I breathed during the entire game. This game had absolutely everything. I screwed up the videos so I'll do my best to recap what happened.

PSU 10 3 0 14 27
Bucks 9 10 0 11 30

1st:
Methodical opening drive by Penn State is capped by a 3 yd TD run by A. White. On the ensuing drive, Todd Boeckman found Robiskie for a 29 YD TD. Score:7-7

PSU followed with another strong drive finished off with a 45 yd FG. 10-7 PSU.

Ohio State drives all the way to the PSU 5 where Boeckman throws an INT on the goaline. On the ensuing play OSU breaks through the line and gets the safety.
10-9 PSU

2nd:
We trade FG and the score is 13-12 Penn State. After a PSU punt and halftime approaching, Boeckman finds Robiskie again for a 51 YD TD with only :42 left in the half.

PSU nearly scored but threw a pick at the OSU five to end the half. 19-13 OSU

3rd:
Both teams had multiple 3 and outs in a very intense 3rd quarter but no scoring.

4th:
B. Sain runs in a 2yd TD with and Boeckamn finds TE Nicol for the 2PT to start the 4th. 27-13 OSU. Penn State and their Qb Schroeder swiftly moved down the field and scored with 5:08 remaining on a 36 yd TD pass to Porter. 27-20 OSU.

The Buckeyes then drive almost 4 minutes and kick a 31 yd FG to make it 30-20 with 1:21 remaining. On the ensuing KO, some ridiculously fast PSU player ran back a 93yd KO for a TD while I screamed profanities at the TV and the score was quickly 30-27 OSU.

OSU recovers the onside kick and holds on for a tremendous win in a big-time rivalry game.

Sounds like a good game, bignej. Sun Tzu is a really good player..a smart player....There's something extra haunting about a big time threat when you're still undefeated, I'd say. No bigger differemce exists than the difference between the zero and the one at the end of your W-L record.

I've got three tough weeks coming up. I hope I can keep pace.

After a really poor first half against a 5-2 Northwestern squad, we found ourselves trailing 14-3 going into the locker room. A 15-yard TD pass thrown by senior QB Bobby Barnes to TE Mark Stephens with 13 seconds left in the half was a real kick in the teeth for the home team.

Our offense came out fired up in the second half. It took just 32 seconds for backup QB Ben Chappell (in for injured starter Kellen Lewis) to lead the team down the field and score on a 37-yard pass to Andrew Means. However, two minutes later, the Wildcats returned the favor with a 2-yard TD pass to TE Chase Fizthugh.

Once again our offense answered. Bryan Payton punched the ball in from a yard out to move to within 21-17. That's when the backbreaker came:

A 101-yard kick return by Johnny Davis put us right back down by two scores, 28-17. I wouldn't have blamed our boys if they had thrown in the towel at that point. Every time we scrapped our way to make it closer, they pushed us back down in a hole. It was incredibly frustrating.

Like I said, I wouldn't have blamed our guys for throwing their hands up and accepting defeat. But they didn't. What they did was reel off 4 touchdowns over the next seven minutes to give us a 45-28 victory. Whew! How 'bout dem 8-0 Hoosiers?!?

Well, this sucks. Bigsmooth lost his connection with 1:29 left in the game. I was at the Huskies 30-to-35 yard line, three timeouts left, 1st and 10, down 24-21. Hell of a game. Seem like we really had to earn the points tonight. We'll give it a go again tomorrow night, same time.

Big,

If you wonder why I paused it after that 4th and inches play in which you picked up the first down with your QB, I forgot you couldn't challenge it. I though I had had him stopped.

We're only 4-3, with FSU, Miami, and a game at UNC, in addition to today's game vs Virginia. This is a big time must win game to get us one step closer to a bowl game. Win this and I just have to find a way to win one of those last 3 games to make a bowl, which will be good enough this year.

After forcing a 3 and out, we score on our second play, and are off to a good start.

Another 3 and out by UVA, another long option run for us:

Annnd, after getting Mann and Andrews both get TDs(our two HB's in our flex/wing sets), we might as well let the QB take one in himself:

It's 30-7 at the half and we're rolling.

We win easiliy, running clock most of the second half. It's 37-7 before two garbage time TDs from Virginia to make it look slightly respectable.

Georgia Tech 37
Virginia 20

5-3 with 3 to go, but I will be decent underdogs in them all. At this point I will be pleased if I go 6-5 and make a bowl game.

You only got 11 regular season games? You need 6 wins and a .500 record to qualify for a bowl, correct?

They generally don't let teams under .500 into bowls (we know only too well from personal experience).

I believe Sun and I played once outside of the RFL. If memory serves, he is the one that I beat on a last second hail mary that bounced off of his defender and into my receiver's hands.

Having only played HA once I don't know how exactly to take that, but judging by how good (or not) HA was I'd say that's a good thing.
