Now that I look at it... that's just way too many stats. I tried to post as much as possible, so that everyone could see how their "seeds" were doing, but I don't want to clog the thread with that every season.

I have a few possible solutions:

1. Post only the top-ten in each category
2. Attach text files of the full stats for people to download
3. Both
4. Neither - I have a better idea.

I won't bother doing a poll... just let me know what you think.

In the AFC, Cleveland and New England are the Wild Card teams. In the NFC, it's Minnesota and San Francisco.

In the Wild Card round, the results were:

Cleveland 24 at Miami 30
Minnesota 13 at Moe's Tavern 28
New England 22 at Kansas City 25
San Francisco 20 at New York 17

In the Divisional round, the results were:

Kansas City 21 at Pittsburgh 30
Miami 20 at Houston 24
Moe's Tavern 19 at Detroit 22
San Francisco 22 at St. Louis 23

In the Conference Championship round, the results were:

Detroit 17 at St. Louis 20
Houston 20 at Pittsburgh 17

Finally, in the Super Bowl, it was:

St. Louis 20 vs Houston 26

There you have it. In the inaugural season, the Houston Oilers have won the Super Bowl.

The only non-seeded team to make the playoffs was Kansas City. This wasn't a surprise, as there were no seeded AFC West teams. Somebody had to go.

Yep. Hadn't thought of that. I've never put a dynasty on a website before. I suppose there's not much to it...

Well, if you want to keep it simple, you can just create a template menu page then copy it for each year called menu2003.htm, etc. It can have links to each text file. And you can have a front page that links to all the menu pages by year.

Yay Maroons! It really warms my heart to see the name Bucky Richardson up in the stats. And congrats Houston, lord knows they SHOULD have done that at some point.

And Warren Moon FINALLY picks up a SB win. After seeing all those crazy stats, I was kind of hoping we'd make at least a bit of noise in the playoffs, looks like that all out offense finally paid off.

WOO! If only it had happened in '91... or '92... or '93... damn. So many missed chances as those were only the *best* years, which doesn't even count those chances where they weren't one of the most talented teams and still could have won it...

Do force chokes from the other side of the field count as sacks?

Must be his signature move to shed linemen. He'd get a few holding calls with him as the offense keep tugging on his black cape.

Damn, what the hell happened to the Cowboys?

Guess maybe I should have put some more talent on the defensive side of the ball. Guess I know what I need to go after in the draft...

And if he could just master that whole "force lightning" bit, they could definitely run a 3-4 as I think that'd be good for taking care of at least 2 O-Linemen.

Jim Miller blew his ACL and spent the season on IR. Should be better by training camp, but I have no idea how this will affect his future.

Payton also had an ACL injury. He's due back in 34 weeks. That might be a problem for next season - we'll see.

Willie Gault has a strained hamstring. He's expected back soon.

So, yeah, the Bears took a bad hit.

The 'Skins had some injury trouble, too. Joe Jacoby has torn knee cartilage, and LaVar Arrington blew a lateral knee ligament. Both expected to recover in the off-season, but both might have diminished careers because of the injuries.

There seems to be a disproportionate number of knee injuries amongst our "seed" players. Anyone heard of this before? Here's a few more:

Maroons:
Rod Harris - Patellar Tendon - 27 weeks
Quentin Coryatt - Hyperextended Knee - 3 weeks

Seahawks:
Steve Largent - Plantar Fascitis - 8 weeks

49ers:
Dana Stubblefield - Torn Thumb Ligament - 7 weeks
Terrell Owens - Unknown - spent season on IR

Steelers:
John Stallworth - Compound Leg Fracture - 10 Weeks

Giants:
Frank Gifford - Torn Rotator Cuff - 4 weeks

Vikings:
Lance Johnstone - MCL Knee Surgery - 42 Weeks
Franklin Noble - ACL Damage to Knee - 16 Weeks

Dolphins:
Mark Clayton - Hyperextended Knee - 1 week

Jaguars:
Keenan McCardell - Dislocated Shoulder - 4 weeks

Lions:
Mel Gray - Shoulder Surgery - 4 weeks
Chris Spielman - Strained Foot Ligament - 2 weeks
Ray Crockett - Torn Knee Cartilage - 2 weeks
Interestingly, there are 5 players on the Lions with influenza. I've never noticed an infectious outbreak on a team before

Avengers:
Nyarlahotep - Broken Ankle - 2 weeks
Ghatanothoa - ACL - 1 week

So, there you have it. A considerable rash of injuries amongst our "seed" players. It looks a little disproportionate to me...

I'm going to go sim a season in TCY to generate the draft file. Any input on how I should run that game? As I said earlier, unless there are any objections, I'm going to play a Sol. 8 team in California.

Well, I can see that Staubach played all 16 games. The injury report I posted was injuries that are still showing at the end of the regular season. It's possible that other players were hurt earlier in the year.

That, and the NFC East was the only division to have every team stocked with "seed" players - hence making it the most competitive.

But, yeah, the most likely explaination is that the Cowpies just suck

Upon closer review - Irvin, Staubach, and Smith all played 16 games. Johnston was out 5 games. Smith was the Cowboys leading receiver. That's probably not great for your passing game. I can't see why else Dallas finished so poorly.

Great stuff Franklinnoble...any reason why Jerry Rice didn't play either?

Good to see the Niners getting pretty damn close Must have been one hell of a game in the Divisional Round, San Francisco 22 at St. Louis 23.

Rice played in 8 games. 39 catches, 648 yards, 4 TD's. Chances are he was another victim of injury.

I'm simming through a season of TCY. Playing as Placerville U. in the Sol. 8 Conf. in CA. Getting my ass handed to me... currently at 0-5.

Anyhow - please start submitting your suggestions for draft picks. Enter as much or as little detail as you like. Obviously, I can't control who gets drafted where - I'll just set up all the suggested prospects as top-level talent (i.e. - they should go in rounds 1-3). Unless of course you really want to submit a sucky prospect. It's entirely up to you.

One prospect per person, please - at least until I can see how many players I have to deal with here. If the response is low, I'll ask for more on Monday.

I'll also see if maybe I can do a rudimentary website in the next week or so... we'll see what time permits.

Thanks!

- Franklin

Well, if you really wanted to do it that way could you just edit players who are already on the rosters ad change them into the new players?

Not that I really want you to do that. I prefer the draft method...

I prefer the draft method as well.

I'd like to have all the nominees by this afternoon, if possible. Maybe I'll give it another day or so... I was hoping for at least 20 draftees... but that could be wishful thinking.

In case anyone is interested - Placerville State finished dead last in the Solecismic 8 in 2003. They had a record of 1-10. I did manage a pretty respectable recruiting class, however, and hope to turn the program around in 3 or 4 years.

Western Michigan won the National Championship. (?!?!?) Guess that's what you get when you make everything totally random at the start of the game. Georgia QB Josh Shea was player of the year. Let's see if he decides to declare himself for the draft...

Alright... ten draftees so far. Some of them had to be re-named, because the names were not in the names .dll file. I'll try to re-name them once they're in the game.

Here's what we have so far. I'm going to make up a few myself. Feel free to submit one more if you like. I'd like to get 20 in here.

Code:
Name Position College Tim Bowens DT Miami Ken Hamlin WR Navy Chris Coles WR Texas A&M Tony Tolbert DE Texas - El Paso Jerry Azumah RB Boston College Rob Nielsen QB Colorado Walt Church QB Eastern Michigan Chaugnar Faugn OT No College (re-named "Charles Vaughn") Boba Fett CB No College (re-named "Bob Hunter") Fred Biletnikoff WR Florida State

How about "Jim Gindin"?

Figured he might as well be in there since he made the games. Pick a position for him. Maybe a P or K.
