The Player of the Year: 2008

As so often happens, the League MVP award and the Top Offensive Player once more are split.

The League MVP award goes to Miami, Ohio QB Terry Farrell with a run-away 138 votes, 26 more than the runner-up.

2nd place in the voting went to QB Buddy Garner of Penn State with 112 votes. QB Archie Grier of Boston College was named Top Offensive Player.

FOFC was represented in the MVP category by Nebraska QB Daniel Ertmann.

Congratulations to our FOFC seniors (Montoya, Ertmann, Swaggs and McGill), and good luck in the upcoming NFL draft!

Final Rankings, 2009:

Penn State is a consensus #1, despite Virginia having a perfect 12-0 record, due in large part to SoS, probably. In the rest of the news, an FOFCer finished behind the team I 'run' (remember, I do absolutely nothing for them), Anchorage, for the first time. The average final ranking for all FOFC teams continues to decline- as more teams are in the club and as old powerhouses have less success.

A record 8 of the top 10 recruited players went to FOFC teams, helped out by the fact 2 of those recruits are FOFC players who went to what will be new FOFC schools next year- Georgia and Pitt. More than 50% of the Top 100 will be at one of our colleges.
