2010 MLS Thread (Official?)
Figured since the season is about to kick off that we needed a thread.
I guess since it now feels like I have a horse in the race maybe I'll pay a little more atention to the league. Go Union! |

I had no idea the season started tonight. I'm a very casual MLS fan. The last I heard their players were close to a strike. Good to see they worked it out.

I'll be paying closer attention this year myself. Just moved from Detroit to Chicago so I have a team now.

Lousy weather in Seattle for the game, but I guess it wouldn't be Seattle without lousy weather.

*chants PISS ON THE FIRE* Yeah, we don't like Chicago round these parts. We used to like ending their season, though

The counter-attack is eating them alive, should be 2-0 if not for the shank.

I'm trying to get into the Philadelphia Union and soccer in general this year.
I'll admit that the only reason I'm following the Union is because (1) I live right outside Philadelphia, and (2) the "Union" resonates with me because I live/practice labor law. |

Looks like it's not going to be a good result for game number one.

The soccer thread already gets some MLS discussion (in addition to the European leagues and national team stuff) and it moves pretty slowly, it's not like college football and NFL which get 300+ post threads each week so it makes sense for them to be separated. But if people want a separate MLS thread that's cool too.
I wish the season opener hadn't been going on at the same time as March Madness, I'll catch one of the games this weekend. With the Union having strong support years before getting a team (Philly fans would to travel down/up to DC, NYC, and Boston to cheer for the road teams ) I think they'll be another quick success like Seattle and Toronto were in terms of popularity. |

Glad to see the Sounders get off to a good start, I definitely plan on going to a few of their games this year. The support for the team is great and the atmosphere at their games is awesome. I went to the Barcelona game last year and had a blast.

Fun time and nice result though I think the wet weather affected the quality of play. I got soaked, but the beer and flask I brought in helped a lot with that.

I think I might adopt Philly as my favorite MLS team. I can't support Red Bull because I hate the idea of a team with a corporate name the way they did it. Though I do look forward to checking out their new
