Everybody knows there's rotten folk in the city, and you're determined to get rid of them. Maybe you don't have much evidence one way or the other but sometimes you gotta play a hunch. Today the best bet seems Bulletsponge. With a name like that, the guy's gotta be packing heat, right?

Bullet gets hauled in by the Atlantic City PD. He's going to be sitting on ice for quite a while. Trouble is, word on the street is that the DA's going to have egg in his face. Bulletsponge was nothing more than your regular, everyday barber. Maybe he had a bit of a gambling problem, but doesn't everyone?

Bulletsponge was a Resident.

That's probably why he put that restriction in there, makes things more challenging. That said, shame on us (villagers). Hell, I would've bought the night kill if I had known the bad guys wouldn't put in a properly decent bid for it. Maybe I'll do that next time.

that's one of the things that makes this game so cool since there aren't traditional role mechanisms and they can shift owners each night.

i seem to recall in the last game the money investigator ended up being huge late in the game trying to find someone who was lying about how much cash they had on hand

No reason not to stick that up before deadline methinks. It can be edited with extra colour afterwards.

Don't really know what you can read into the votes. One thing I've been thinking is that in this sort of game if I was a wolf I'd be much more likely to vote to save a team-mate, for two reasons.
1) Assuming there are three wolves they are 13:3, with another team that might co-ordinate against them. They're going to need to cover their butts. And they get extra value from having more team-mates alive because of the sharing of resources, ability to coordinate bets etc etc.
2) Voting a team-mate isn't going to prevent them from being nightkilled if the other team get the hitman. In fact if they get trust that way they might be more likely to be taken out.

So in recent games there's been a lot of hot wolf-on-wolf voting. There might be this game as well, but I think there will be less team-mate vs team-mate voting. Unless the wolf is a usual seer scan target (Danny, Chief, JAG) - in which case they might reckon on being scanned and try to get trust for a team-mate.

I agree Narc. The other thing is just because someone votes a wolf doesn't mean they aren't on the other team. I think last go-around with this rule set I used orange for one mobster color and red for another to keep straight who voted for which wolf team.

Dawn breaks on Atlantic City. There is hope and there is worry. People hit the boardwalk and the beach and the casinos, grabbing the newspaper as they do so. It seems like a quiet night in the city. No big news to report. Happy Gambling!

Very interesting, especially since we know no one won the BG. Last game when I won the night kill as a villager and used it on a mobster, the guy wouldn't make the kill because he was afraid of mob retribution. I wonder if that's what happened here.

Well, I can't speak tot he mystery of the missing nightkill, but I was the one who bought the seer.

It appears that Mr. JAG is squeaky clean. Actually the investigator specifically stated he spent the night "trimming his nails."

I feel much better knowing I don't have to worry about JAG as mafia.

Pretty funny. For those who weren't around in the first game, I bought the seer the first day and scanned Chief, who was clear.

I am suspicious of buying a seer scan. It strikes me as the easiest way for a wolf to find some cover.

How much weight should we put on the scan that Chief bought? Wouldn't that be the first service I'd be hiring as a bad guy?

Dunno. It's a half clear at most for me.

While I agree, I also daresay it's going to be a tough, tough road to victory if we second guess everyone who buys the seer.

If I were you, I would feel the same way. Seer clears are way different in this game than other games. I don't really expect anyone to accept it until they feel okay about me. For me, it was worth it to know that JAG is clear, so I at least feel I can trust him.

It would be nice if there was a way to coordinate so the seer and whoever buys the scan for the day don't end up scanning the same person but I can't think of a good way to do that.

Or maybe it's best this way -- if a wolf buys the scan and clears someone who isn't then the regular seer could catch it out? There is a regular seer as well right?

Off to the rules again.

I trust his scan.

In all seriousness, while it doesn't say anything about Chief, I think you can make a decent argument I'm a good bit more likely to be a villager than not given the scan result. The one disconcerting thing could be that Chirf and I are teammates, but given I would then be a likely NK target for the other team and my death would then lead to his death, that doesn't seem to be a high reward play.
