Quinton "Big Train" Oliver - A Fight Night Round 4 Legacy
I am going to use default settings, starting at Pro difficulty as I have developed some horrible habits from playing UFC so much so I need to reign it in. This is prelude to my real legacy I want to do but the more practice I get playing on one that's just for fun should help. Especially with training games where I have struggled to not suck at.
We'll see how it goes. |

Quinton "Big Train" Oliver
5'10", 147 lbs [Welterweight] Fighting out of Detroit, MI Oliver is a right hander who relies on speed and getting inside on his opponents to win his fights. Fights with a lot of heart, but needs to develop some power if he is ever going to be a KO artist. He can have long fights as he prides himself on his stamina. He lives for his right hook, which is his one true KO punch at this point in time. |

Fight 1: Quinton "Big Train" Oliver (0-0) vs Sasha James (0-0)
First Round Amateur Boxing Tournament Fight The first fight for Oliver starts off with a lot of jabs from both men, but James wound up for a big right which Oliver ducks out of the way of and then drills him with his own right hand stunning him. A nice flurry of punches wore James down but he was able to get out of the round thanks to the bell. The second round was just brutal for James as he was totally out classed by Oliver. James went for an uppercut that Oliver got out of the way of an then a 4 punch combo that ended with a right hook to the jaw floored James, KO'ing him barely a minute into round two. Winner by 2nd Round KO - Quinton Oliver Last edited by DeToxRox : 06-26-2009 at 04:47 PM. |

Fight 2: Quinton "Big Train" Oliver (1-0) vs Denny Thomas (1-0)
Second Round Amateur Boxing Tournament Fight This was an ugly fight for Oliver and Thomas both. It was very much a class of styles as Thomas just lumbered around and Oliver was retreating. The first 3 rounds were close but went to Oliver and Thomas knew it. In the fourth round it was a brawl and with 8 seconds left Thomas connected with a vicious Uppercut on a counter punch to send Oliver down. But in the final round of these fights a fighter can be saved by the bell which Olive was and though he lost two points for the round he would win the other 3 rounds on all 3 score cards to win the fight via unanimous decision though I don't think he earned it. Winner by Unanimous Decision - Quinton Oliver |

Fight 3: Quinton "Big Train" Oliver (2-0) vs Cono Long (2-0)
Semi Final of Amateur Boxing Tournament Fight Now this was a great fight as both guys were in fighters and very quick. Oliver took the first two rounds but gassed himself in the third and had to fight a defensive game which ended with Long taking the round. In the fourth and final round it was a street fight and Long got a little ahead of himself throwing too much punches and gassing. Sensing the tide turning Oliver jumped up the effort rocked Long with a series of punches before KO'ing him with a right hook to the ribs to advance to the finals. Winner by 4th Round KO - Quinton Oliver |

Fight 4: Quinton "Big Train" Oliver (3-0) vs Gervaise Vaughn (3-0)
Finals Amateur Boxing Tournament Fight Pretty anti climatic finals as Vaughn was a counter puncher who didn't seem to adapt at actually countering punches. Oliver won all four rounds with ease and besides being stunned once the fight was never in question. Winner by Unanimous Decision - Quinton Oliver |

Fight Scheduled vs Sasha James
The Oliver camp schedules their first real fight for April 3rd, 2009 on ESPN's Friday Night Fights vs Sasha James in what is expected to be an excellent bout after their last war during the amateur tournament. Scheduling the fight for April 3rd will allow two training sessions between now and then to hopefully get us moving in the right direction. |

Training: Maize Bag
The goal is to avoid the bag going side to side, and throwing a punch when the trainer calls on me to. I only score 1,800 points which categorizes me as a bum. Not exactly the best start to training. The training sessions results in the following changes: - 1 Left Hand Power - 1 Right Hand Power + 1 Hand Speed + 1 Head Movement + 1 Block Strength |

Training: Double End Bag
The goal is to move to the indicated areas and throw punches, then moving to the next spot and so on and so forth. I score 13,100 points this time around which categorizes me as a prospect. Much better then the waste of a session on the Maize Bag but I need to improve a great deal if I want to be a legit contender. The training sessions results in the following changes: + 2 Punch Accuracy + 2 Foot Speed - 1 Head Movement - 1 Block Strength + 2 Stamina 61 Overall (+1) |

Fight 1: Quinton "Big Train" Oliver (0-0) vs Sasha James (0-0)
Live on ESPN Friday Night Fights This was not even a contest though it did go the entire 6 rounds it was scheduled. All three judges scored it in favor of Oliver 60-51. There were knockdowns in the 4th and two in the 6th that made this one pretty much a rout. This was the knockdown in the 4th. He was stunned following the punch after his uppercut. Winner via Unanimous Decision - Quinton Oliver Last edited by DeToxRox : 06-26-2009 at 05:50 PM. |

Fight Scheduled with Danny Gordon
A fight has been scheduled with Danny Gordon (11-11-4) for ESPN Wednesday Night Fights on July 8th. The fight will take place in Mexico City. The timing of the fight allows us to two training sessions which is usually ideal for these type of fights. Gordon is a southpaw who is a counter puncher. This should be a decent test for Oliver. |

Easily explained: just box to your best ability for one 2 minute round. Points gained for punches and defense. I rack up 23,375 points which categorizes me as a champion. That was a huge plus for this training. The training session results in the following changes: -1 Punch Accuracy +6 Head Toughness +6 Body Toughness -1 Heart +5 Chin 62 Overall (+1) |

Training: Heavy Bag Combos
Easy enough to explain; your trainer yells for you to do certain combos and you gain points for each one you successfully do. This is hit or miss for me though as sometimes I get flustered and am not precise enough and throw punches I don't mean to do. I only score 1500 points. I had a nice rhythm early and shot it to hell with a couple messed up hooks. This categorizes me as a bum and will lead to some not so good ratings changes I assume. The training session results in the following changes: +1 Left Hand Power +1 Punch Accuracy -1 Foot Speed +1 Block Strength -1 Body Toughness |

Fight 2: Quinton "Big Train" Oliver (1-0) vs Danny Gordon (11-11-4)
ESPN Wednesday Night Fights Live from Mexico City, Mexico This was a fight that saw almost two distinct halves. Gordon was the aggressor the first two rounds, using his outside fighting style to keep Oliver at bay, not allowing him to get inside to deliver his big punches. It was obvious that Oliver was down 2-0 on the cards and in a 6 round fight that isn't good. Then in the third round Gordon got a little conservative and allowed Oliver to be the aggressor. This continued into the 5th round with both guys jockeying for position and alternating between throwing the big punches and peppering each other with jabs. In the 6th round Oliver took control and with a knockdown with nearly a minute left he went into a defensive mode easily winning the round as he countered wild blows thrown by Gordon. When the judges reached a decision it was unanimous in favor of Quinton Oliver. Winner via Unanimous Decision - Quinton Oliver |

You have to punch the bag down a mat hitting it where it is indicated. This one is probably the trickiest one for me but I need to try and master it. Fight 5: Quinton "Big Train" Oliver (4-0) vs Ed Young (8-7-5)
Live on PPV This was a brutal, brutal fight. Ed Young was overmatched once I got inside and after a 3rd round knockdown and several stunned states Young was just trying to not be KO'd. Sadly for him he would be with several body shots and he couldn't get up for the 10 count. Winner by 4th Round KO - Quinton Oliver Last edited by DeToxRox : 06-27-2009 at 01:32 PM. |
