New Star Grand Prix

Looks like the maker of New Star Soccer has a new game out and I like the price point. Now I just gotta find the time to try out the demo. Check it out.

New Star Grand Prix is out now!
We are proud to announce that New Star Grand Prix is on sale and available for download right now on PC and Mac.

During the trial you can take part in the first 3 races of the season or compete in quick races. If you wish to continue you will need to purchase a license key for $9.99 / £7.49 / €7.99.

As you can see from the screenshots above, New Star Grand Prix is a top-down racing game inspired by the classics such as Super Sprint and Micro Machines. Just as Brawn GP have breathed new life into Formula 1, New Star Games have revived a forgotten genre and created an addictive top-down racer.
Check out the awesome feature list...

Star in a full career spanning 10 seasons
Compete on 17 real world tracks
Upload you best lap times to the online leaderboard
Watch out for changing weather conditions
Keep an eye on tyre wear, damage and fuel and make tactical pit stops
Zoom the camera in or out to suit your driving style
Watch replays of the entire race
Manage relationships with the boss, pit crew, fans and friends
Purchase sports cars for yourself and friends then race them on the test track
Gamble your prize money at the casino
Create your own tracks with the built in editor
So make like Jensen Button in a shiny new car and get New Star Grand Prix now!

Regards,
The New Star Team

I was just coming here to post this... At work so I have not had a chance to try the demo. Going to give it a go tonight and see if it's worth the 10 bucks.

Speed Circuit. There was an earlier Avalon Hill game called LeMans that was similar.

It's a good game, but the difference between Normal and Hard difficulty is enormous. Normal difficulty will see you win nearly every race whilst Hard difficulty will see you struggle to finish much higher than 15th.

Oh the memories of pestering my dad for hours to play Speed Circuit. Mostly I remember him thinking the car noises I made were cute, until he started losing, then he told me to shut up.

Is there a racing game like Speed Circuit that is for the PC? Maybe something with a career mode?

Difficulty is being taken care of in a patch.

I got the game to load, but once a race started it pooped and crashed. Not buying unless I get it working.

Ah yes, Speed Circuit.
I would play solo games with a di(?). Roll it and move each car.

That was a great game. I would love to see this game on the PC.

If someone ever bought those titles and developed PC turn based sims, I imagine they would make a fortune (hint, hint someone).

Tried the demo, not bad, lots of learning curve. Could be a hellish time waster during the wee hours of the night =)
