Welcome Back, Baseball!

Whatever anyone else says about baseball, man, I just can't get over how much I still love this sport.

Opening "Night" has arrived, and the Star Spangled Banner is about to be played at Edison International for the first game of the season.

Welcome to the 2003 season. And may it end with a repeat championship by the Anaheim Angels!

Remember, Kyle, that is the way we like it. Let them disrespect us--that is exactly when these Angels play their best.

No one but Angels fans believed last year until the last out. And they decided to compartmentalize it as a fluke.

So, yes, I want all the fluke and the disrespect to get as much play as possible--because you can bet that true talented gamers like Salmon, Erstad, Percival, Eckstein, etc. are all reading it and pinning it to the board.

This team proved last year that if you get them down, all you do is get them focused and mad--and winning.

Stop being greedy, let the Cubs win for heaven's sake.

Neuqua, if the Angels were eliminated from winning it, the Cubs would be high on the list of other teams I would like to see grab this one.

Neq, we all know that if you were the Commish and Owner of the Cubs, that would be the only way they'd have a chance.

I hate to say this, but if you're a Cub fan, you should get used to seeing Karros and Grudz in the lineup. Giving Dusty Baker, who is a great manager, a mediocre veteran is like giving a junkie a basket full of crack.

That's what i've been telling people, but everybody has been brainwashed by the constant gushing of the Cubbies and their young guys potential that they forget Dusty loves the geriatrics.

GO STROS!

Dusty Baker is the best manager in the game today. Yeah I know he doesn't have a ring, well he does as a member of the '81 Dodgers, but IMHO he gets more out of his players than anyone else.

What a HR by ARod, man that kid can hit.. and hit.... and hit.

Baseball back on ESPN!

Tomorrow I will be sitting at Busch, sipping a Budweiser, and watching Matty Mo take the mound!

GO CARDINALS!

I know everyone loves Dusty, but I give my best manager choice to a slightly more controversial manager. Yep, LaRussa for me .

You guys have absolutely no feelings for anyone. The Yankees haven't won it all for two years. Do you even begin to realize what that does to a Yankee fan?

Dusty is really good. But he does have an old guy fetish. He also abuses young arms. He regularly laps the field in PAPs for his starters.

He also prefers using a 'proven veteran' and using his motivational and tactical ability to get the most out of their mediocre talents to using an unknown youngster. That's true even when he has decent prospects.
