Ah, I would always look in the Mets media guide and be like - why is the Bulls GM scouting for the Mets? It must be his son or something, but nope, it was him! I wonder what baseball talent he actually signed.

Sad he was never inducted into the Hall of Fame.

Was really the other way around. Krause was a baseball scout from the late 60s til he left for a "sabattical" to run the Bulls. He then went back to baseball 2011 article when he was named Scout of the Year. An MLB article from 2010 mentions that "He played major roles in the White Sox acquisitions of Ozzie Guillen, Julio Cruz, Ed Farmer, Greg Luzinski, Tom Seaver, Greg Walker and Williams" and his bio from his time with the Diamondbacks mentions Along with D-backs executive Roland Hemond, Krause played a major role in the hiring of Hall of Fame manager Tony LaRussa to his first managerial post with the White Sox in 1979. I heard a podcast with him, where he said doing baseball and basketball at the same time kept his skills fresh and prevented burnout on either side.
