Simpsons DVD: Season 2 question
I just got the second season DVD, and it works fine on my computer...except for one thing. For some reason or another, there is no commentary on the DVD for the episodes. There was a booklet with a synopsis of each episode in the case, but I would hardly consider this commentary. Am I missing something, or is the booklet the "commentary" that I'm looking for? If it is supposed to be on the DVD, how do I access it?

There IS audio commentary for every episode... I don't remember how to get it, but it was an option for every episode I think... Just select it, and it'll play the episode with commentary.

There is commentary...but I admit it is hidden kind of...give me a minute and I'll load it up to check it...

Go to the episode you want to see
Go to Language Selection The audio Commentary option should be there. (Usually commentaries are in the audio options, which is why it's kind of hidden) |

Yeah, that's what I thought. I've seen the "audio commentary" option, but when I scroll my mouse over that text, it acts as if nothing's there. When I click on it, there's no change...like it's missing a programming button, or a dead link, or something.

It has to be a problem with your DVD software then. When I go to it on my DVD player, a dialog bubble pops up with the names of the commentators, and then I hit enter.
With your DVD software, what must be happening is that it's not registering that the option is being selected, and thus the bubble does not come up. (Edit, I do not go to the audio commentator option, select it and then the bubble comes up, it's more of a "mouse over" type effect, if that makes sense) What software are you using? Maybe I have the same software (I have a DVD ROM) and can play around with it and see what I can come up with, Last edited by sabotai : 05-02-2003 at 12:21 AM. |

So you're suggesting that it's a DVD program problem as opposed to the DVD itself. The DVD program in use is InterVideo WinDVD (I believe).

w00t, I have WinDVD...let me see what I can come up with.
Edit: The company that makes it is InterVideo, is that the same as yours? Last edited by sabotai : 05-02-2003 at 12:28 AM. |

Yes, it is. It's odd because it simply doesn't recognize a button at the audio commentary spot. I scroll over it and it doesn't highlight/recognize. It does it for every episode.

Ok, I got it.
First, there are two windows. The large window with the DVD playing, and a small window that has a bunch of controls on it. On the small one, there is an arrow pointing to the right on the right edge of it (above the ?). Click on that. It brings up more controls. Go the language screen. Use the arrows on the new controls to move the cursor to the audio commentary, click on activate (the "target" symbol in the middle of the arrows) and there you go... |

No problem, glad I could help. And I have found that no matter how rare you think your problem may be, FOFC is the best tech support service out there. There's always at least one person here that can help. |
