Oh I know he's hurt. But even when he's been healthy Bradley never showed a great inclination to use him. I'm a firm believer that he can be the 2nd coming of Claudio Reyna in terms of controlling the pace of the game and dictating it for the USA from midfield.

When Dempsey and Jozy are both not around...striker options are painfully slim.

Am I the only person who thinks the US could be just as good as Mexico if only our players were taught spacing at a young age?

On the ball, Mexico rarely has 2 or more player within 5 yards of eachother until they reach the last quarter of the field.

The US, even playing out of the back, we routinely have 3-4 players within 5 yards of eachother. Is it really that hard?

Why isn't Timmy Chandler playing? I keep reading good things about him and not he's committed to the team.

Edgar Castillo.

For Americans, nothing is certain other than death, taxes, and awful left backs.

Well, for a US side who has done pretty much nothing but play long balls for years and years, it might take some time to figure that whole spacing thing out.

Even if he's healthy (not sure what his exact situation is), we tend not to call up guys who are starters for European club teams for these friendlies. Altidore, Dempsey, Bedoya, Goodson, etc. would all have been in the squad if this were a qualifier. Chandler too probably.

I think Bradley would be better suited as a DM for the team and Holden, Donovan, Dempsey and other players taking the attacking roles for the midfield.

You never cease to amaze me. He's a pretty renowned commentator. And more importantly, he was born in Uruguay.

Okay - so he was born in Uruguay. Good for him. He's still being overly "Mexico cheerleadery" for my broadcast. I want homer announcers for my national team in all sports damnit.

I don't have a problem with his accent or anything...I just have a problem with the substance of what he's saying.

I was gonna come here and blast the RR sub, but I take it back

Donovan had a terrible touch on that last possession. Torres should have had that in front for an easy goal

Normally you wrong foot the goalie. It looked like Rogers wrong footed himself. A goal's a goal.

I don't know nearly as much as you guys about the sport. But it feels like a lot of the old guard has a style of backpassing and not moving the ball quickly. These new guys are like "fuck it, let's go". Saw the same thing in the Gold Cup when Adu would come on. Just felt like a different attitude toward the game.

Saw Brek Shea a couple MLS games on TV and I thought he was really good.

I wonder (thinking out loud here) if maybe the team has become so used to Bradley controlling the pace of the game and distributing from his deep DMC position that they tend to defer to him all the time and everybody else is more hesitant to create? And now they feel more free to spread the ball around and have various people create when he's not on?

Probably more likely it's a coincidence...but maybe not? Small sample size, hopefully we'll get a chance to see.

Curious...couple penalty shots denied (1 was CLEAR) and that is absolutely a red card.
