Lemme go take a look at that. I didn't even check it, though I thought I'd fixed the ages. Might need to release a new file in that case. Sit tight. |

Yeah it looks like I'd forgotten to set STREP's age back to 17 at the end of the season, so then the draft class was thin. I've gone and fixed this and because the class was weak, added the age 16s into this draft class too. It'll give STREP a chance to really rebuild from all of the purges in recent years thanks to FFP anyway. Anyway, I'm releasing a new file now with the updated draft class.
I'll post when it's up. Draft is tomorrow night. Everyone should download this release once it's up. |

All of a sudden, 1st rounders are worth a bit more than before. And 2nd rounders have some relevance again.

Also when the draft gets completed tomorrow, trades can include 1863 draft picks since the rule allows for dealing picks for the upcoming and immediately following draft. In case any of you are making deals or want to.

AL WILD CARD STANDINGS
------------- St. Louis 49-35 .583 San Diego 47-36 .566 Cleveland 46-38 .548 --------- Memphis 1 GB Winnemucca 2.5 GB Chicago 5 GB NL WILD CARD RACE -------------- Gettysburg 47-35 .573 Washington 44-38 .537 Rio Grande 43-40 .518 -------- Kauai 41-43 .488 2.5 GB Carolina 41-43 .488 2.5 GB Cleveland 39-43 .476 3.5 GB Well if nothing else, the 2nd wild card has made league races so much more interesting. Without it, the race for that 2nd spot might be competitive, but it's seemed to inject just enough punch into the races that the playoff picture remains hazy. One of these years, would love to see some team from out of the race manage to find its way back into the thick of things. |

The HTML's dark print (especially the dark green) on the dark background is a little hard on the eyes. Anything you can do about that YD?

And what's with 15 year olds, but no 20, 21, 22 year olds in the draft?

The draft is 16 years old or anyone who turned 16 by that date. STREP doesn't have anyone in it who is over 18 because every year I've been releasing anyone who is at least 18, so they don't play down there that long. But starting this coming year, the players down there will be older because I've changed the creation to create players who are between 16-20 rather than 13-18 as it was before. AL beats the NL 9-1. All-star game doesn't matter anymore, so you know, it's just an exhibition.

The AL field is set, it's just a question of who will be the top seed with 2 games left in the regular season.
--------- STL: vs. Cleveland (9/16-17) WIN: vs. Columbus (9/16-17) The NL field is a bit more open with Carolina and Rio Grande, the two old stalwarts playing down to the wire to see who'll claim the NL's 3rd and final playoff spot and also whether SLOP will see its first losing record team enter the post-season. RIO: vs. Carolina (9/16-17) |

Because Carolina and Rio Grande are playing each other and have just two games left, there won't be a tie for the 3rd NL spot. In the AL, we could have a scenario where we need to use head-to-head record to determine who wins the AL outright title (unless there's a tie, then we'd play a game to determine it.)
Here we go. Last edited by Young Drachma : 10-26-2012 at 12:26 AM. |

9/16: St. Louis 5, Cleveland 2 (This clinches at least a tie for the AL pennant for STL)
Columbus 4, Winnemucca 2 Rio Grande 10, Carolina 4 (RIO clinches the final NL playoff spot and at least a .500 record with this win.) |

This ends Winnemucca's run of five straight 100+ win seasons and regular season pennants. It's the 2nd straight playoff appearance for the Gettysburg Gomers and the first playoff appearance for the Washington Grays since the move from LA, the franchise's only other appearance came in '57, which was also the last time the St. Louis franchise made the post-season, though they were in their first season in SLOP and were the Milwaukee Blue Sox back then.
So we've got a bit of the old and a bit of the new in this year's post-season. This is Rio Grande's 4th playoff appearance in five years and San Diego's second straight after a six year drought. This is the 5th season in SLOP of the 3rd playoff team and last year's Carolina Kings were the first wild card to claim a title in the Elimination Series era. I'm uploading the file here in a sec, will post when it's up. Playoffs tomorrow night. |

We finished 3rd in runs scored and 2nd in runs allowed and all we could manage was a near .500 record?

Rio Grande comes back from down 3-0 and manages to claim 3 of their 4 wins in the NLES in extra innings. What an effort. |

So San Diego's last pennant came in '53, Rio Grande's only pennant came in '57 and Washington & St. Louis have never won their respective league titles. Should be a good one in both leagues as both series pit the top seed against the #3
