1869 (Season 32) Offseason Thread

Here's the 1869 Salary Cap figures (by team)

Code:
$107,642,878 St. Louis Aviators $128,433,640 Gettysburg Gomers $106,700,481 Columbus Crusaders $96,812,383 Wyoming Plowboys $100,903,350 Denver Crows $109,976,052 Winnemucca Lake Monsters $106,555,078 Brooklyn Titans $104,666,332 Las Vegas Aces $100,927,580 Cuyahoga Spiders $101,026,758 Chicago Hornets $104,548,356 Washington Grays $98,719,341 Lake Tahoe Syndicate $102,326,721 Los Angeles Villains $107,180,066 Rio Grande Rough Riders $108,737,397 Carolina Kings $101,202,943 New York Skyliners $107,521,072 Cleveland Laborers $108,410,337 Memphis Smokers $86,162,510 Joplin Miners $105,194,438 Portland Thorns

The revenue formula is $100k per win + 85% of payroll + merchandise (attendance) + plus any bonuses (playoffs) and money you acquire via trades (or send, as it were.)

Cap from year to year is your profit/loss plus $100 million. So if you turn a profit, whatever is leftover gets added to that $100m.

Gate Revenue & attendance gets generated by the game.

Eusebio Salavisa again played in all 162 games for his third year in a row. He's now 44, and doesn't look to be slowing to much.

So crazy. The game will auto-retire him at 45, but no way he's staying retired if he's still producing like that.

Maybe I'm just not seeing it, but do we have the draft order finalized?

Is this it? Front Office Football Central - View Single Post - 1868 (Season XXXI) Off-season Thread

It's a little confusing with the draft being set on the previous season's record, but I think this is the draft order for Monday's draft.

I should do next year's draft lottery, because it makes it easier to trade picks or not when you know what sort of pick you have for the next season.

Aah, Winnemucca really is the Yankees. Of course they'd have the #2 pick in a draft when just what the club needed was an elite starter to replacing their aging set of aces.

Of. course.

I think maybe the talent got turned up too much for the draft eligible players. In the 5th round I got a 2b with 8 contact and 10 power potential.

It won't always be like that, it was a bit of an overcorrection I think because I added non-STREP guys to the draft because it won't generate any 3-pitch starters.

I forgot to give Joplin the 1.19 in the draft this year and they're not interested in taking the player Columbus drafted, so I'm going to award them a compensation player. I'm mostly posting this so I don't forget to do it.

Not that anyone has ever traded a 5th rounder that I can recall, but effectively immediately 6th rounders can now be dealt.

Remember, no sim tonight. We'll do FA1 tomorrow. I figured that people would want a day to see who is out there and make offers, rather than the fast turnaround.

Wyoming hasn't had game access for the past few days, but told me that he didn't want to pick up the team option on Jimmy Ridgeway worth $28m. Shocking, I know. So he'll be released in the file tonight that I do to process the trades that were made today.

Joplin got the same deal you got last year which was take other team's player or compensatory player award. He chose the latter.

Does the amount that I spend on salaries this season affect my salary cap for next season?

The revenue formula is $100k per win + 85% of payroll + merchandise (attendance) + plus any bonuses (playoffs) and money you acquire via trades (or send, as it were.)

Cap from year to year is your profit/loss plus $100 million. So if you turn a profit, whatever is leftover gets added to that $100m.

So really, the perils are in spending consistently and not winning. Those playoff bonuses sustain runs. But for the most part, the cap is designed to keep teams +/- $100 million at all times, unless they win extremely big.

I added a sample team at the end of the spreadsheet from last year, so you could make a copy of it and play around with various figures to see what would happen if your payroll went up versus went down and say you had a good or bad year.

Sal Garcia, the guy that Columbus drafted with the 1.19 will be awarded to the worst team in the league from 1868, meaning that he's going to New York. I started to delete him, but didn't really see a reason to do that. Just what SLOP needs, another damn outfielder.

I processed all of those trades last night, but exports were brought in after, I guess so all of the guys were released. I asked them to fix this in the new version. Anyway, I need to fix all of those deals.

PROTIP: If you're going to talk shit about people's roster moves or trades, post them in the forum and make sure you actually know the people before you go doing that. Seriously, I don't want members thinking they should quit when someone impinges on their credibility or whatever.

Because that's fucked up and that's not how shit goes down in these parts. And it's disappointing that someone's PMs caused someone to think they needed to quit rather than hang out here ESPECIALLY a new member.

Grr..
