I wonder if O'Kelly/Clincher II will be as good as bout I. I have to say, I'm a little disappointed that we got set for a rematch with the Bicentennial Gift Clincher. Of all the fighters we could have faced! We don't match up well with the little guy. I have no ideas yet how to avoid the mid and late round fade we suffered last time. We do need to do something different as we barely escaped with a draw last time.

The Hurricane's first opponent is:

De Renegade 5' 8" 175 lbs. This will be Renegade's 1st fight.
With this height/weight combination it is impossible to tell what style Renegade will use.

Hurricane's Fight Plan

Feel free to tweak any of this if you think it will help me win.

Judging by the first couple of fights, I think I'll train conditioning.

Style: Ring

Aggressiveness: 6
Power: 4
Defense: 8
Rest: 2

Any thoughts on these?

Afoci,

Your opponent is probably going to be something like:

Str 11
Sp 8
Chin 9
KO 1
Ag 12
Con 10
Cut 1

This is just a guess, but at that height and weight he is limited in his options. Do you have any ideas how you want to attack, and what do you want to train?

Travis,

I can't give you an idea on what your opponents stats are, but I can suggest using the following fight styles:

Inside
Outside
Counter
Clinch

We can change round to round. I would also work off of a 5/5/10 round breakdown. If you want to throw more jabs - up the first number, more power punches up the second. Your opponent isn't real big so he'll probably be real fast or real strong. Unfortunately, I can't tell you which.

Fighters and casual readers,

Quick Question. Would you prefer I gather suggestions for building fight plans in another tread and leave the results and PRs in this one?

Just want to make sure it isn't getting to cumbersome to find out where you left off. I know some of the fight summaries can get rather long (you should see the full report).

Pancho O'Kelly

Pancho O'Kelly preparing for his rematch with the Bicentenial Gift Clincher, has sparred so much, and been KOed so many times that doctors were brought in to make sure he didn't have brain damage.

"We've had a tough time coming up with a plan that works," state Bagadonut. "We keep winning the fight by 3 or more rounds going into the 12th, but get killed in the final round. In fact, after all the sparing we've done and the results we've witnessed, I'm amased he survived the first fight. I think we've finally developed a plan that has a chance. It's a bit risky, but we're going to pound on Clincher a bit. Maybe we can take some sting out of his punches. The one thing we really have to hope for though...is that he doesn't try to end it early. I'm not sure we can stand up to an All Out attack on his part."

Bertogarce,

I need to know if you want to go with the plan I developed that worked in sparring (again that is against pretty basic fight plans), or if you want to try and get a lead and hold on in the 12.

Let's roll with Outside, and start off with a 4/7/9 breakdown. If this seems totally off the wall, let me know, as I trust your judgement in this

Well, after my brutal loss in my first match, I am thinking of training Con to keep my stamina up for the fight.

I am thinking of using Outside, and 5/6/9.

But, I need any advice I can get, or my career may be over before it begins!

I am not sure really on what to do for a fight plan, what do you suggest. It appears that conditioning is needed, so I figure I will train that? If my conditioning is fine, lets go for strength.

Conditioning is a good idea. As far as style, you can use any. Your fighter is pretty balanced and so are his. Your probably stronger with a better KO rate, so you probably should consider:

Inside
Feint
Ropes

THE REMATCH - O'Kelly/Clincher II

Never have so many people been interested in a rematch involving two fighters who don't have a win between them. However, the first fight was truely a classic, which can be seen on ESPN Classic following tonights affair. In the first fight O'Kelly jumped out to a big lead, but barely held on in the 12th. In fact, had the 3 knock down rule been in affect, Clicher would have won by KO. O'Kelly, true to his partly Irish heritage, managed to keep getting up in the fact of brutal shots by Clincher. When the round was over Clincher scored a 10-7 which made the fight a draw.

In training this time around O'Kelly's cornerman Joe Bagadonuts put him through the ringer.

O'KELLY Post Fight Reactions

Trainer Joe Bagadonuts

"This was a great win for us. We worked hard. In fact, I was afriad we had worked too hard, but boy did it pay off. We took a chance, and I got to admit, I'm glad Clincher went down when he did. I don't think Panch had enough in the tank to keep from getting pounded like he did in the first fight. We decided to go after Clincher, and luckily it wore him down."

Assistant Trainer Mac Aroni (recently out of the hospital, and headed to mental therapy).

"Who's Pancho O'Kelly?"

Clincher Trainer Ed Block

"I can't believe it. I just can't believe it. I thought we'd kill that - that - I still can't believe he knocked us out."

We'll try to get comments from Pancho as soon as he can figure out how to get his mouthpiece out of his mouth.

Breeze, great strategy for the rematch! When Panch got knocked down in the 9th, I was a little scared. For him to get up from the canvass and knockout Clincher in the same round is amazing! While not as exciting as O'Kelly/Clincher I, I do like the outcome a whole lot better.

In the words of Apollo Creed, "There ain't gonna be no rematch". (at least I hope there won't be a rematch.)

Again, great fight strategy.

JIMMY "HURRICANE" SAUNDERS makes his pro debut tonight against Da Renegade. Renegade is a 5' 8" 178 lb fighter, who also comes into this fight with no record.

Joe Bagadonuts said, "We are assuming Renegade is an inside pounder. Hopefully, we have the right fight plan to counteract his attack. In sparring, we've been successful most of the time, but that's sparring and not real fighting. We'll see to tonight."

POST FIGHT COMMENTARY

Jim Lampley - "This was a very unfortunate result for Jimmy Saunders. He fought a good fight, but the lack of stamina hurt. There were two rounds in the middle of the fight he obviously took off, I'm sure to have some steam left in the late rounds. But that was 2 rounds he basically gave away, and in the end he only lost by a split decission with 2 judges going 115 - 114 for De Renegade. I think with a little more conditioning Hurricane will be a very good fighter."

Post Fight Conference
Jimmy Saunders approaches the podium after his fight, carrying a live chicken:

"The Hurricane would like to publicly state that he was robbed. Those scorers were both blinder and older than my dear sweet grandmama. Next time I'll make sure to knock his {bleep}ing head off so there is no doubt.

And to you, Renegade. If you are too afraid to meet me in a rematch, then this is what will happen to you and your family and your family's family and your family's family's family's family!" (mutters: "Wait, I think I had too many family's in there")

Jimmy proceeds to bite the head off of the chicken and throw the body in the direction of Da Renegade who is waiting to the left of the stage for his post fight conference. Then Saunders storms off stage, muttering "That's all for now."

Bobby "Baked" Beans

Bobby Baked Beans has his second fight set. He'll be taking on Momma's Biscuits (the name has been shortened for clairity). Mamma's Biscuits (1-0-0) is a very tall and active fighter. At 5' 11" Biscuits is one of the tallest in the weight class. He is also has very quick hands and good feet. In his one win, Biscuits threw 678 punches and landed 469, without fatiguing. Those punch numbers include the fact he took the 11th and 12 round off because the decission was locked up.

i was wondering how a

5B/6/9 would work in sparing

fight inside and try to wear him out

i don't think i can fight on the outside and match his aggressiveness without wearing myself out

keep working on conditioning

Blade (0-1-0) vs Little Hevywate (0-1-0)

Blade will be fighting a unique boxer this weekend. He takes on Little Hevywate, who is just that. At 5' and 89 lbs. he is by far the smallest heavyweight in History.

"Typically fighters this small are fighting strawweight," Blade's trainer Joe Bagadonuts. "This guy is taking on the big boys."

Originally the boxing commission ordered Little to fight in the appropriate weight class, but Little's lawyers threatened to sue. Fearing another loss in the courts, the WebBL decided to allow him to continue.

"Little's lifetime goal is to be heavyweight champion," said Jack Cheatem, Hevywate's attourney. "Well, actually his lifetime goal was to win the triple crown, but he's allergic to horses. Anyway, he wants to win the heavyweight championship, and I'm going to make sure he gets his shot."

Hevywate's trainer Dale Pacman said, "Little Hevywate will be the first sub-100 lb. heavyweight champ.... or he will die from being knocked around the ring alot.. "

Jim Lampley - Nice debut for Hunter. It's early in his carear to get excited about an early KO. That happens alot in the heavyweight division, but an early KO win is much better than an early KO loss. Let's see how he does in the next few fights.
