First conference win for RU since November 2017 (21 games!!). All it took was 7 turnovers, or whatever they ended up with including that last pick.

Our punter has bailed us out twice with 50+ yard punts from inside our 20.

Tory Taylor is from Australia and just recently was allowed into the country. He is a true Freshman.

Rugby is to fun to stop.

Our LG forced a fumble when Goodson was getting tackled inside the 15 on about a 6 yard rush.

Sigh

Andrew Thacker (DC at GT) is even worse at his job than Jim Chaney (OC at UT).

Ponder THAT.

I know the pronunciation is different, but the Iowa St kicker's name reads as Ass Alley and I can't stop giggling.

This is year 2 of a 7 year deal for Coach Waffle House. No way Tech can afford to fire him before he coaches 6 of those.

I’m not sure of the contract situation for the assistants, but bet they aren’t gone this offseason either.

Which is why there's zero reason for hope. Thacker would be overmatched on Saturday morning rec fields.

After considering the "ability" of Chaney and Thacker, I'm just working on my dream coaching staff. I mean coordinators gotta have staff.

Special teams coordinator? Paul Johnson
Down & distance decisions? Reggie Ball
Life choices coach? Bobby Petrino
Getback coach? Sal Alosi

I thought Minnesota would get blown out with all of their absences. They're hanging in there though. Probably the ugliest BiG game of the week so far, lot of jankiness out there.

Michigan is playing in mid season form and very physical. The Gophers are looking like its their first game against a Sun Belt team.

10 penalties and 3 turnovers for Iowa. Over 400 yards of offense but only 20 points.

Ugly game against a team missing their 2 best players and HC.

Going to be a long season. Thank goodness it is so short.

Minnesota has a tradition of scheduling 3 or so Sun Belt teams annually so having to start with Michigan was a kick in the teeth.

Mertz tests positive. If he tests positive a second time, he's out 3 weeks per Big 10 protocol.

Coastal up to #20 and #21 in the polls, Top 10 here we come . Their freshman QB might miss another game this week, so sometime the bubble has to burst right?

Mertz out vs Nebraska, Purdue and Michigan. As a CFB fan, that sucks.

To me, a single cancellation should remove that team from consideration from the playoff. They are already playing 3 fewer games than the ACC. 4 is too much.

I don't care if its not their fault - Big 10 should have had some sort of plan for this. If Ohio St doesn't make it because an opponent has to cancel, so be it.

But Ohio St. is better than anyone in the ACC except Clemson, no matter how many games they play.

Based on what metric? No one from the Big 10 plays out of conference this year.

I get that its all an eye test, but they already have 3 fewer chances of tripping up against a weaker opponent (see Ohio St - Purdue a few years ago).

ND has no chance. I don't think they keep it close against Clemson in a few weeks, much less beat them twice.

Added: The ideal situation pre-covid for this ND team was to stay somewhat close to Clemson, finish 11-1, and win a NY6 bowl game. Getting blown out twice by Clemson or somehow making it to the playoff and then getting blown out will have negative long term consequences for them. This is not a championship level team.

UGA is better than ND, but has a similar situation with Alabama this year.

One final thought - if 7 games isn't too few, why not 6 if Oregon looks great.

OSU could be undefeated in three games and they'd make the playoffs. I know ND isn't going to last against Clemson, but I'm absolutely certain the committee would take the top four of Clem, AL, OSU, ND right now. They have the dream foursome right now.

If rumors of a mass outbreak at Wisconsin are true, it may be 3 more weeks of cancellations. Sounds like a Florida situation. Why couldn't Covid have taken the Illini instead? No offense to Lovie intended.

It took an out of the box season like this to prove that there's no reason to even play the games anymore. We should just use the preseason rankings, play a final 4 and be done with it.

With the BIG10 rule that a player has to sit 21 days for a positive test the whole conference is going to be a disaster.

I was wondering if OSU would move to three this week or if they'd make them win twice.

Nebraskas president asked the other B1G presidents to allow them to play Tenn-Chat since they lost the Wisconsin game. Nebby even put together a contract before it asked. This is only a month after all the B1G schools agreed to only play conference games and the other protocols.

Nebraska needs to be gone from the B1G. They are no longer a national brand in a low population state that adds nothing to the B1G.

Now Illinois is coming up with cases but no specifics yet. Their game with Purdue on Saturday is in question and Purdue was supposed to play Wisconsin next week. Didn't take long for this to turn into a shit show.

Someone needs to get the Big Ten on a con call with the SEC and ACC coaches. Walk them through how you punish players if they try to get tested, how to hide test results until there are too many on a to keep a secret (like how you magically end up with 19 on one team), and how to change up the schedule to benefit the best teams. Clearly the Big Ten is just not getting how this is supposed to work.

The Big XII can be on this call, too, but keep them in a corner and don't let them talk. Or near sharp objects.
