"Friendly" matches occur on Wednesday (that's when we have our various FOFC Cup matches), and league matches are on Sundays.

Sorry couriers, it was ignorance on my part. That should have been condors not couriers. Probably happened on the transition over here.

The disclaimer at the bottom did say assuming I can read.

Hey Afoci,

Just sent you a challange for next week (look under your challenges). I just got my team, so it should be 'interesting'. Of course you are a whole series above me (making excuses just in case ...)

I am fielding competition for a home game at North County. Feel free to challenge. First come, first serve. In the meanwhile, I will be searching Canada for competition.

Hey, ardent (or whomever), how long to get youth squad from inadequate to passable? I would think it would take weeks and weeka, but I HOPE less.

I don't have a definitive answer, but passable doesn't take too entirely long to reach. I had it last season in my first full season.

Very logically, I believe they made it a reasonable amount of time to reach PASSABLE in youth squad. Going from PASSABLE->SOLID seems to take a fair bit longer and going from SOLID->EXCELLENT definitely takes a time. Makes sense since it allows team to be able to survive on their own after not too long. I like their system.

I'm not sure but I think it goes like this:

disastrous/wretched to passable: half a season

passable to solid: half a season

solid to excellent: 1 full season

Well, I made Passable in youth squad last night. It took 3 weeks to go from making Inadequate to making Passable.

Too bad my players don't go up that fast...or at all. I have trained Playmaking every week and have had a grand total of ONE player with an increase.

Speaking of increases or, in this case, decreases, what is the deal with form? I have many players going down in form every week, many more than go up, it seems. I have 6 wins in a row, at least until I play a good team tomorrow, and still they drop like the plague.
I guess I could read the manual for insight maybe, but I prefer my FOFC/Hattrick bretheren, as y'all usually know what;s up on any questions I ever have.

Another thing... I have finally sold players to get the bucks to upgrade my stadium. If I have about 630 supporters who are temporarily, at least, high on life/delirious, how many seats should I have total, approx...generally speaking.

triple dola...

You know what I like... I like having a Wingback for sale whose value is, like 45k, but he is the only passable/passable wingback on transfer for any day at that time (defend/winger). Then 3 teams start bidding for him, and I end up getting 150,000 or so for him. Now THAT is my kind of sale.

Oh, you dola slut.

Woohoo! Congrats on good sell.

Form is semi-randomish. Every week, 2/3 of your teams apparently get selected to have their form be modified. Some notes I've read have said training general doesn't really help but I felt like it helped me (I trained general for a couple of weeks to normalize the form after a fair stint training stamina).

As far as stadium goes, from what I read from DK's and horned the toad's posts, it seems to be 17X-to-25X your supporter club size. Depending on your rate of success. If you are having solid consistent success, you might consider the higher end since the club should be able to grow to fill it.

Have you double checked to make sure your coach is passable (or at least in that neighborhood)? That might effect your training. Also if you have a prospect you really want to improve, you might consider playing them in both friendly and league. More experience is a GoodThing[tm].

Playing twice in a week gives better boost? I thought once a week was same as twice a week, as long as you play in a game.

Here's what I read and how I understand it . . .

Quote:
An International friendly gives about a fifth of the experience that a league match gives - and a friendly within your own country gives about half as much as an International friendly.

Each game a player play earns him some experience points (say, 10XP for a league game and 1XP for a domestic friendly). The more game, the more experience earned.

As far as what position you earn the experience on, it doesn't matter if you played one game or both. Only the last game played count for whether or not your player earned the XP, based on position.

Again, I could be wrong here (see: the discussion on forwards in the General section of the forum). But that's how I'm understanding it.

Well guys, you got me! I lurked around in here for a couple of months, kept reading about Hattrick this and Hattrick that, so much so that I had to check it out and now I'm hooked!!!

Please welcome the Pintendre Pittbulls (108238), currently dead last in division IV in Canada, now certain to be demoted to division V.

I got my team last Tuesday and have bought a few players, signed a few coaches and assistants, read a lot (from people around here, thanks!) and even though the Pittbulls just won their first league game 4-3, I just realized that with my 3 points (was a big fat zero when I got the team) and only three games left, I CAN'T reach the 6th team in my league. Inevitably, my team will be relegated to division V. Oh well, at least my supporters are DELIRIOUS after our first league win

See you around!

I signed up for the FOFC federation, and one little thing i noticed that should probably be changed is...

Homepage (URL): http://www.sportplanet.com/fof/board/

shouldn't that be changed to the new board url?

A few questions:

Have y'all seen keepers improved based purely on just contribution from keeper coach(es) without specifically training on goalkeeping?

If so, how many keepers coaches do y'all lug around?

What'd you do in the unfortunate events of your keeper picking up a ding when carrying around 1 keeper? Scrounging the wire?

Good lord, you bought that hunk 'o junk?

Was my backup defender, but his form never climbed above poor. He's been at disastrous form for like 3 weeks now.

That was my first player purchase on hattrick, i can claim ignorance of the game....can't I? I had decided to try him starting at my left defender and well....

Floyd Meek on the other hand, had a terrible day.

Do NOT bid on a player if he is. I slept with the light on, and put about 15 locks on the door to save me from him.

To think, i was so excited to finally get the email about getting a team. Then I saw my roster... Oh boy do I have alot of work ahead of me.

Anyways, please add me to list of Hattrick addicts:

Bull Dogs (8421)

Country: USA
Region: Boston
Arena: Bull Dogs Arena
Series: # 8 in V.1

Anyone feel free to challenge me to a friendly if your team needs an ego boost. Off to stare at the transfer wire for a few hours. (Only 3 players on my squad under 26.. And none of them are that good. )

Well, if you are training defenders, he MAY be worth something someday. He is an 18 yr old inad defender, after all. Play him in friendlys, get him training.

If you aren't training defenders, I strongly recommend dumping him back on the xfer list. He'll sell for 1,000 again.

And no, I'm using my rock collection as promotional items for my next match vs vexroid.

I just got a team to play around with. Hopefully I can get them going eventually.

I started up a dynasty. I hope some of you will stop by and give me some advice on this thing.

Actually good luck...I got three keepers, I'm training in keeper, and I plan to have three passable keepers by the end of the season, playmaking just wasn't getting results

Having three keepers, you train only two of them every week, right? Wouldn't it be better (or cheaper) to carry only two and as soon as one of them is passable, to sell them?

I've tried to get rid of one and had no takers...I grabbed two almost simultaneously and realized I had a keeper too many...but I train all three, the youngest gets all the friendlies, the other two are capable at the leagues...

What I meant was simply that on a given week, only two of your keepers will benefit from the keeper training... I personally keep two inadequate keepers and I'll try to bring 'em up to passable...
