But at least it's a "dry heat", right?

good lord. i had a soccer game on turf sunday at 2 pm - no joke it was at LEAST 120 on that field.

then monday night, the highest day ever, i had a game at 9 pm on turf. it was still well over 90 degrees.

i think i lost about 10 pounds in sweat, but really will never do that again like sunday. i nearly passed out.

The weather went on for about 5 minutes on this phenomenon. Essentially a HUGE high pressure system over the Western US is keeping the off shore currents from coming ashore. Plus this big clockwise moving weather pattern is pouring wind right off of the mountain down into the coastal regions of CA. Makes for brutal heat in LA. It is actually hotter there than in central CA for a change.

The further north you are the better a chance at the off shore cooling to have an impact. In Monterrey yesterday, the temp dropped 39 degrees within one hour, when the breeze came ashore. That isn't all that far from Santa Cruz and those banana slugs.

I have family over on the coast, and some of them don't even have central air conditioning, as it usually isn't needed. 110 is brutal for those areas.

I'm staying in Santa Rosa until I find a house, and it was 101 degrees there. That's fucking ridiculous.

Luckily I'm inside right now, where the AC unit doesn't appear to be working. So it's like 95 instead of 105.

Walking around for 6 hours during the day for a job sucks in this weather.
